having used both a nespresso vertuo (packing reusable pods) and legit espresso machine... I like the art of creating my own shot, getting the right grind, weighing the grams/shot, tamping and adjusting the brew time. And it tastes way better when freshly ground-> to shot.
The time it takes to grind/and fill a reusable nespresso pod, also cleaning pods afterwards is such a pain. Cleaning after making an espresso shot from a machine like this is pretty easy in comparison.
do educate me on good grinder but below 100 pls and the coffee supply..I m new and I drink anything 🤣🤣
You can set the amount of time the single/double shot buttons run by holding the button which determines the amount of water that goes through the filter (ref. user manual)
This one requires you to pack your own espresso. The Nespresso uses convenient pods. If you're looking for a semi-auto, do-it-yourself espresso machine, this. If you're looking for speed and convenience, the Nespresso.
I've been searching for a decent entry level espresso machine for a few weeks now.
I've read a ton of reviews and understand "you get what you pay for," but this seems like a no brainer. Add in Sams return policy if anything ever happens and I pulled the trigger.
I bought the Costco deal yesterday and ended up cancelling that order for this machine. I also stacked the New Member $50 gift card promo which allowed me to get this for $100 (after about 20 minutes talking to Sams CS online).
I thought the new member $50 promo was only good for in-store purchases. How did you get CS to apply the promo for this online deal?

Can anyone recommend a good espresso grinder?
What's your budget? Grinders are like High end Speakers for audiophiles. So I may hit a few nerves from the coffee snobs (I'm one of them) 😅 but I also had the same question in my coffee journey for the perfect shot!
The grinder is the most important tool that gives you the taste you want out of your shot. Having said that grinders varies in price.
There's a rule out there coming from coffeegeek.com the grinder should be a 1:2 ratio in cost. For example if the espresso machine is $200 then you should get a $400 grinder.
Nevertheless to answer your question a good grinder that is not too high end, keeps it clean around your counter and does not take a lot of space is the 'Baratza Encore'. Search in Youtube about this grinder.
Eureka Mignon is another good one.
More in the mid-high end prosumer grinder the GOAT - 'Mazzer Mini'. They no longer hold that GOAT title but they set the standard for grinders.
Or super high end barista level mahlkoenig grinders.
I love getting a good shot of espresso if someone is making, but I totally think the available Nepresso capsule flavors are pretty good depending on your preferred flavor profiles. I highly recommend the variety Peet's capsules that are regularly $20-30 for 40 pods on Amazon.
Steam wand I understand. Why do I need another portafilter? Thanks for your help!
I should have been more specific, the portafilter is to accommodate a non-pressurized basket. The machine only comes with a pressurized basket and the stock filter won't fit a non-pressurized basket.

For entry level, I've been really happy with my DeLongi EC155 but it looks like it is OOS everywhere. This one looks a lot more sleek and stylish though. One thing I noticed is that they still throw in a cheapo plastic tamper on this model. I would grab a stainless steel one on Amazon.

Is there a difference with the taste?

Edit - Nevermind. I did some research and I now understand.
Bigger decisions to be made. Not just order this coffee maker and be done with it.
