    Thinking about getting this for my Dad.

    I'm still rocking my OG Bip for the past 3.5 years (purchased for $70 in July of 2019). Battery life is down to about 4 weeks instead of the 7-8 weeks I used to get. As you say, not as smart as many other watches but does what I need it to do: give me notifications and tell me the time/date. All the rest is simply a bonus. The only thing I might like to use is dictation and music controls but I gladly give them up for weeks worth of battery life, a great screen outdoors, waterproof (I never take it off, swimming etc.), and no worry of breaking it when, say, working on the car or in the yard. You can still purchase original Bips out there in internet land and I might do the same if this thing ever croaks.

    Oh and FYI I bought the paid app "Notify for Amazfit" and its soooo much better than stock app for all sorts of fine tuning and control.

    Not that great. Amazfit devices tend to be at the very bottom when compared to other heart rate sensors/smart watches. Especially during high activity workouts. The Apple Watch always comes out on top. I still enjoy my Amazfit GTS 2 Mini though.

    I picked up one of the bip u pro's for $50, arrived DOA, so I am picking up the replacement today. The reviews I saw on the pro showed sensor readings were pretty close in most areas. This will replace my band 5 which was a test to see if I liked the smart watch concept, after not wearing a watch for 10 years.
    Anybody want a killer deal on a used band 5? Lol

    I have the bip 3 PRO. This is the same watch without the GPS. If you plan on using it to track exercise at all you are better of paying $15 extra for the PRO. Great watch BTW... The Zepp app is decent and syncs to Google Fit. The battery lasts forever. I use these cheapo watch bands because I hate how silicon(or even leather) feels sticky.

    The pro version has GPS and it is 50USD on Amazon. But, is GPS really necessary? I never have a smartwatch before.
