Question. I ordered this including T Harness and Ball Switch and am having it delivered to my house. After I make an appt with a bestbuy store, I can just take the items that were delivered for free installation, correct?
Just want to confirm if others have done the same.
2 years ago (for the compustar) I bought online and scheduled online and everything was in store when I went to the appointment. Just want to confirm if everything is being delivered to me that installation will still be free?

You need to call an make an appointment to get it installed. First you have to find a store that does installations.

I got got my appointment. Earliest was Jan 8.

Call as soon as you can or you might be wait MONTHS before you get an appointment

Yes installation is free. Some cars need an extra relay maybe $13

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying that the chat gave you the appointment? You can verify it by calling the store the appointment was made for.

That should work. I would just call them at the store to confirm at some point. You don't want to get there and have them tell you they don't have a record of it and give you another appointment. You have the T harness and tilt switch? You can also make sure you have the correct T Harness

Yea, I added it, and also I see there is a "Free Installation" item, however when trying to add it, it keeps spinning, so I was not sure, if adding just Remote Starter, Harness & Tilt will make you eligible for Free Installation or you need to explicitly add "Free Installation" item to get free installation.

I don't remember if I added that to my cart. I think I only had the remote starter , t harness and the tilt switch.

It said to contact my store to make an appointment after I checked out. Which is what I did. I believe all the remote starters come with free installation. The only problem I here from people is when they forget to add the T harness and tilt switch. And Best Buy tells them it wasn't included

You can use this as a guide to what places are doing installation in your area. If you find someplace that has appointments you like CALL THAT STORE to see what they have available.

DON'T USE THAT SITE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. It probably not up to date. Make the appointment over the phone

I actually just bought the Compustar remote, but i returned and bought the iDataStart...I went into the store as I could not see the harness for my Subaru. Installer stated it is a general harness that isn't showing up..so he added it to my reciept and I got to keep my scheduled appt...which isn't until Jan 27. It also showed up for him for 299 with total tech after you clicked on the description...but in the main view of all remote starts it showed 189.99, so he had a manager override. The installer stated that the iDataStart is a much better remote start with the range and 2- two way remotes. Thanks OP...

It was a no brainier for me . For an extra $50 you get double the range and an extra 2 way remote.

Yep, They are ADS, The installer website for Compustar is in fact their website, so that should tell you how close they are. Basically buy on the features included, you are basically getting the same units, even the firmware is the same on a Compustar and IDatalink. (I've installed a few)
