Ticket to Ride is a cross-country train adventure game. Players collect train cards that enable them to claim railway routes connecting cities throughout North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who can fulfill their Destination Tickets by connecting two distant cities, and to the player who builds the longest continuous railway. So climb aboard for some railroading fun and adventure. You've got a Ticket to Ride! October 2, 1900 -- it's 28 years to the day that noted London eccentric, Phileas Fogg accepted and then won a 20,000 bet that he could travel Around the World in 80 Days. Now at the dawn of the century some old friends have gathered to celebrate Fogg's impetuous and lucrative gamble -- and to propose a new wager of their own. The stakes: $1 million in a winner-takes-all competition. The objective: to see the most cities in North America -- in just 7 days. -Spiel Des Jahres 2004(German game of the year) -As d'Or Cannes 2004 (French game of the year) -Game of the year 2004 - Japan -Game of the year 2004 - Sweden -Game of the year 2004 - Finland -Diana Jones Excellence in Gaming Award 2004 -Origins Award Winner - Best Board Game 2005 -Game of the year 2004 - Spain -Parent's Choice Foundation Silver Medal 2004Contents: 1 Board 240 Colored Train Cars 110 Train Car cards 30 Destination Tickets 5 Wooden Scoring Markers 1 Rules booklet .

Good find. thanks OP. Played at a friend's place once and loved it. I was looking for a deal since then. Lowest it went past couple of years is $23 i believe. Its a fun family game.
Would a 10 yr old be able to learn and enjoy this?
My 7yo destroyed me at this last night. If they're into board games and strategy, it would be great. Takes 30-60min to play depending on number of players.
The smaller "city" games like New York and London are the same mechanics, but much quicker and make a good intro to the series.

This game is fun. We play it all the time on Mac or iPad. Have all cities expansion too. Someone tell me something which makes it worth buying the physical version. Thanks

Spectacular deal on a great game. It's too bad the Europe version isn't similarly discounted, because it's an even better game. But if you've never played Ticket to Ride, this version is a great place to start and the price is right!
Bought this on Black Friday for $30. Nice to see it's dropped. When this happens, make sure you initiate a chat with Amazon and ask for a price correction. They'll say it's not something they typically do, but when you threaten to just repurchase and return the original, they'll play nice. I've never had them deny me.

Agreed, but at the same time Europe can get a little over complicated for younger players with the tunnels, ferries, and stations. We sometimes play Europe with US rules just to streamline it. Those full-sized train cards are very much worth it. The US version has the tiny cards, which can get a little annoying.
Still one of the best board games of all time, IMO.
