Gaming? No. It runs integrated graphics. There's a vid for everything. Someone actually tested this CPU & IGP in a bunch of games.

Here are the specs for the mobo:

https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c08132262

Someone smarter than me can tell you if this is proprietary or not, and how all that matters, but according to the above it does have a PCIe 3x16 slot. Something to check is what size card can physically fit into this particular case if you do add a GPU.

I didn't even see that Costco Lenovo deal. I did order the cheaper unit from Staples. Spec wise the differences are the 16GB vs 12 GB of RAM + the 512 GB vs 256 GB SSDs in favor of the Costco Lenovo. They both use the same CPU.

Build quality I'd favor the Lenovo, but these are entry level units so that may not be consequential. The 16 GB will = better performance, and if you need the added storage then it's really a question of is it worth $60 more to you for those bennies. My unit is going to be used for light office work so neither the storage nor the RAM difference warrant spending the added cash. It may to you tho.

Also 6% cb at Staples thru a certain site that we all know and love. Begins with an R.
No CB on HP products and/or Desktops

Any chance of putting a cheap card in this so that it can do 4k@60hz? It looks like the HDMI is only version 1.4 thus only 4K@30hz. Don't need it for gaming just being able to run a 4K monitor at @60hz for productivity.

Not having HDMI 2.1 kept me from buying. The integrated graphic in the CPU supports 2.1
Not sure why these inexpensive PC's don't support it.

If it was $200 or less I'd be interested. I just want to see a cheap, solid successor to the i3-10105, small form factor, forget about adding a discrete GPU. i5-11400, i3-12100, or i3-N305 would qualify and get 4K/8K AV1 decode.

I can't stand full size or "small form factor" desktop now. I need a mini PC. (Unless I need a graphics card, but I haven't had one of those in a long time) It's just I have so much on my desk already I can't have another machine, and there isn't a good place under the desk either.

Any thoughts on how well this would run docker containers and a few VMs (unRAID)?

Imo, pay the extra for ADL and 4GB ram.

What about case, PS, keyboard, mouse? Wouldn't that bring the price close to this?

I don't need the 6 Alder Lake P-cores. The other CPUs I mentioned would be fine.

The pre built from HP came out cheaper than the sum of the parts

Depends on what your definition of moderate is. This can do Fortnite, CS:GO and Genshin Impact decently.
