That said I am curious this particular line and how they sound so I might buy a pair at this price.

Buy me a pair and I will give you a solid review of them 🤝

No way I'm spending that much even if I had it. My ears aren't golden enough. I've tried Focal hp's but that's gonna be by limit. To each his own.
At that time, the various bookshelf speakers had a very detailed sound with high resolution, speed, and a refined sound signature. They sounded very good. However, they tended to sound a bit thin and light. Perhaps a tad on the dry side, with a fast and dry bass that had very little bloat.
Compared to some other popular speakers of that time, like the Epos line, they were the yin to the yang of the Epos. Both very musical and satisfying in their way, but the Epos had more body, more heft to the sound. Maybe more of a sense of soul. The Triangle had more resolution and speed but, again, could tend to sound somewhat thin and light.
At the shop, the sales staff vacillated on which speakers sounded preferable, and it really came down to what mood any one of us were in on a given day. Sometimes I really enjoyed the resolution and speed that the Triangle was offering, but sometimes I wanted something meatier and more soulful, and the Triangle felt somewhat thin and unsatisfying on that day.
Having said that, these are observations from 20 years ago. I haven't followed Triangle much in the intervening years so I don't know if those characterizations of the Triangle sound are still valid. A lot can change in 20 years. Maybe others can comment on the current sound profile of Triangle speakers.
But I can say Triangle is a good brand and likely to satisfy you if the sound signature is right for your ear. This kind of thing also depends on smart system matching, so that you get the sound that you like without tipping it way over to one side or the other.
Get these if you like. The aesthetic though. Almost anything is an upgrade from TV and laptop speakers.
If you're interested in audio quality though, it's basically Kali until you get to Genelec. KEF can be great too. Personally, after using coaxial speakers I will never go back.
Lol. Disregard this incorrect 🤡

My Focals are warmer and livelier, like knocking on wood. My Klipsch are darker, thicker, "bloaty" in sound.
These are twice the price, rightfully so. Not sure it's a fair comparison, in that aspect IMO.
You are better off comparing them to Triangles Bro3's.
If you're looking to do HT with them, keep in mind JBL's matching center (520c)is a very weak link, finding a replacement can be a challenge.
