I have this one, the USB works fine, but the HDMI does not work well, at least for the LG 32GN600. Lots of flickering, or just does not turn on most of the time.
Thanks for letting us all know. I was wondering if you could find a use and now I can finally sleep well at night.
I use it and its so helpful..I have an office laptop and personal laptop with 2 external monitors and wireless keyboard, mouse and camera...I click a button and all controls switch to another laptop and vice versa...it's very useful rather than connecting all wires again

Ditto this. I have one personal 36" curved monitor with my personal desktop PC and a work-issued laptop. Even though my monitor has multiple HDMI ports (HDMI1, HDMI2) for more than one PC to plug into, the buttons are annoying to use and they dont switch automatically (sensors). This would by a little old to use, but pretty much be one button to push rather than various.

I have the same setup except one monitor 1440p 144hz and other 4K 60Hz. You don't need the Level 1 Tech but its definitely more hassle-free. I just bought Trendnet (TK-240DP) KVM and it works (had to fiddle with it a little for it to display both monitors during setup).

Its incorrect that most KVMs cant support 1440p 144hz. As long as you can get a decent KVM with displayport, they can support 4k/60 or 1440/144 (both are close to same bandwidth). DP 1.2 ports are preferable to HDMI (as long as your monitors have a port) since they have larger bandwidth and have been around for a while.
Fair enough. When I was reading a bunch of reviews on a lot of these, they basically said that 144hz at 1440p support was super finicky, and it often didn't work on a number on those that are rated for 60hz @ 4k. I think it's a lot of buyer beware type stuff on cheaper ones. That said, I know I can keep this KVM for a really long time, especially if I ever upgrade to 4k way down the one. It's so ridiculously overbuilt right now that 120hz @ 4k is even supported.

Would you switch more than your keyboard and mouse? If not, how fast do you type? Pretty sure I can't break USB 2.0 bandwidth Smilie

This thing might be junk or might be great, I have no experience with it. I like mechanical usb switch boxes personally. Simpler and they last longer.

So is this digital? I have been looking for an analog USB switch (2.0& up). To share a keyboard and mouse

I've bought about 5 different KVM switches. I have been using a TESmart KVM, linked below. I like this one the best because it has EDID emulation built in, which means that when I switch between computers the video signal doesn't get disconnected. Every other KVM I purchased doesn't have this feature. I've had to get a replacement for the TESmart one, and I was hoping this one has EDID emulation but at $12 I doubt it.

My two main needs are EDID Emulation and at least 60 FPS over HDMI.

If anyone is knowledgeable on these items, please share your recommendations!

You could do that, or you could just press a button to switch between the two in seconds ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Plus I have my work laptop stowed away in a bracket mounted under the desk, so the KVM makes it much easier / cleaner overall

creating a problem and then solving it :-p.

Fyi- my 4k monitor flickers a lot as well ..

I saw it said frame rate 30 so I tried to mess around with some of the settings and I was unsuccessful.

You can get a passthrough EDID emulator which might work and allow you to use any KVM.

I have a tripp-lite 4k displayport KVM that had the monmitor disconnection issue with my work laptop. In that case, I solved it by just running an HDMI cable to the secondary port on my monitor and telling windows to mirror the displays. So even when the KVM disconnects the DP cable, the laptop still thinks it is connected to an external display via HDMI and doesn't change anything...but an emulator or dummy plug might be a better solution.

Unfortunately a couple months ago the KVM decided it either no longer likes the USB-hub on my monitor, or that the USB port should just stop working. So now I can switch computers with a hotkey, but if I want to switch mouse/webcam, I have to swap cables (or buy a separate USB switch).

So yeah...now I'm in the market for a Level 1 since those seem to be the only ones that truly work well for large displays and faster refresh rates.

Long run I'm just hoping Dell releases an update to the Ultrasharp 49" super ultrawide.

Built in KVM on those works way better than any standalone unit (and it allows for split-screen between computers). But the current model maxes out at 60hz and is getting a bit long in the tooth (about 4 years old at this point) so I have trouble justifying the $1300+ pricetag.

These things are hit-or-miss. I tried two of them from Amazon. 2021 16" MBP and PC with GTX1080 with a Samsung 4k monitor. The first KVM box worked, but it would flicker at least once a minute, and the screen would go blank for like 3 seconds every 3 minutes. The second KVM box would only display 1080p on one of the ports. The other port didn't even work, and the USB ports would only work if I used another USB hub to attach my keyboard and mouse. I just gave up after that.

I found that having a switch for monitors isn't necessary. I have 2 computers plugged into 2 monitors and when I want to switch them I just put one to sleep and turn the other on. The monitors automatically switch. At the time I would have had to spend more on a switch that supported 144hz than I did on my monitor. I still use a switch for usb mouse/keyboard/mic. Hope this helps 🙂

My two monitors are shared between my work laptop and my home desktop. I initially tried this but ended up with TESmart.
