Its incorrect that most KVMs cant support 1440p 144hz. As long as you can get a decent KVM with displayport, they can support 4k/60 or 1440/144 (both are close to same bandwidth). DP 1.2 ports are preferable to HDMI (as long as your monitors have a port) since they have larger bandwidth and have been around for a while.
This thing might be junk or might be great, I have no experience with it. I like mechanical usb switch boxes personally. Simpler and they last longer.
So is this digital? I have been looking for an analog USB switch (2.0& up). To share a keyboard and mouse
My two main needs are EDID Emulation and at least 60 FPS over HDMI.
If anyone is knowledgeable on these items, please share your recommendations!

Plus I have my work laptop stowed away in a bracket mounted under the desk, so the KVM makes it much easier / cleaner overall
creating a problem and then solving it :-p.
Fyi- my 4k monitor flickers a lot as well ..
I saw it said frame rate 30 so I tried to mess around with some of the settings and I was unsuccessful.

I have a tripp-lite 4k displayport KVM that had the monmitor disconnection issue with my work laptop. In that case, I solved it by just running an HDMI cable to the secondary port on my monitor and telling windows to mirror the displays. So even when the KVM disconnects the DP cable, the laptop still thinks it is connected to an external display via HDMI and doesn't change anything...but an emulator or dummy plug might be a better solution.
Unfortunately a couple months ago the KVM decided it either no longer likes the USB-hub on my monitor, or that the USB port should just stop working. So now I can switch computers with a hotkey, but if I want to switch mouse/webcam, I have to swap cables (or buy a separate USB switch).
So yeah...now I'm in the market for a Level 1 since those seem to be the only ones that truly work well for large displays and faster refresh rates.
Havent seen many decent ones at a good price.
Built in KVM on those works way better than any standalone unit (and it allows for split-screen between computers). But the current model maxes out at 60hz and is getting a bit long in the tooth (about 4 years old at this point) so I have trouble justifying the $1300+ pricetag.
