If you want higher specs for school/work, buy previous gen iPad air/pro models through sale or renewed around $400-450.
We saw many deals last week and we'd see many more through Christmas!

1. Best Buy actually had better trade in value than Apple (175 vs 125)
2. I use this primarily for work, and the center camera is much better for teams calls
3. I have the old Apple Pencil, so it works out. Had to buy the adapter though.
Total cost was ~250, and only downside is I have the laminated screen now. Otherwise performance is actually noticeably smoother from iPad 3rd gen chip.

I mean like…for example,
I have one and I'm selling mine as I don't see myself writing on my awesome iPad 12.9" Pro M1. I realize that I have no use for it. I don't like drawing nor do note takings. I do love magic keyboard though.
My point is that there's 50/50 chance. If she does, cool,go for it. If not, that's $$ saving too.
She is one of those who will not explicitly tell me she wants a new iPad, it is up to me to know that. 20+ years of marriage over here. 😆

Though I encourage you to consider the 9th gen iPad. No colorful tablet options beside silver and space gray.
I honestly am not sure the color choice alone warrants the buying decision between? Usually, it more than just color like size, memory storage, RAM, accessories, chipset, headphone jack, and the list goes on.
