I own the TSR-700. I believe this model has the same issue with Yamaha choosing 3 - 24gbps HDMI lanes vs 1 40gbps lane. This means that 4k @ 120hz WITH HDR will never work on this device. I am going through the process now to get a board repair just to get 4k @ 120hz without HDR. Even with the board repair, they are not changing the chipset to allow the advertised 4k/120/HDR. For those looking for atmos, this one doesn't have it.

The denon at Costco is a better deal at regular price and best when on sale. Yamaha screwed 2.1 up badly and my last attempt at using a 2000 dollar receiver from them a year ago was DOA out of the box. I ended up with a marantz 6015 and the free adapter for 4k 120hz. Love the sound quality.

Same. I have a yamaha 12 years old no arc but works great.😁

I have a few Yamahas from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s; all work great.

Which Denon model are you referring to?

I have been looking for a solution to connect my apple tv with a b&w active speaker and my old but good stereo amp + 2 floor standing speakers together (as opposed to invest in a completely new set of sonos). Would this do the trick?

That's a shame. I purchased a TSR-700 from Costco about a year ago and it's been working flawlessly with my LG GX series. I was fortunate enough to get a unit with the 8k board pre-installed (according to the serial#). I did have to enable 8k from the settings menu though. My tv doesn't support 8k, but I'm able to select 4k @ 120hz on my series x and ps5. Hopefully it's accurate 🤔

Someone posted a similar Yamaha receiver on here today. I just bought the tsr700 which is a rx v6a so same line of reciever. I have had nothing but problems with HDMI switching and dropping video signals. Can rarely get it to handshake with my TV. It's been a total nightmare.

Been having similar issues with my Yamaha TSR-7850. Can't really use HDMI ARC reliably at times.

Been waiting a while to get another Yammy receiver to go with the TSR-700 from Costco, but refuse to buy from newegg. Shame what happened to the once great online retailer
