Note: The light control in the adaptor relies on the Wyze V3 sending data to the adaptor (i.e.: Turn off light at sun rise). However, the cable they give you is quite short. If you wanted to place the camera further away from the light, you need to make sure the cable can support data transfer. The normal micro usb cables you see on amazon for wyze do not transmit data, so make sure you get one that can handle both data and power.

Good and Bad
First one I got didn't work and was sent a replacement. I finally got that one to work after going through the setup process no less than 10 times (I have 3 other wyze cams so I'm familiar).
Camera quality is good, and the socket keeps me from having to wire into my rental. I'd really appreciate the unit more if it didn't go offline every couple days and I have to do a hard power reset. It's fine when I'm home, but when I go away that is a problem. Which is the reason I'm not signing up for Cam Plus. Why would I pay for a service that is useless when the camera decides to go offline.

I placed three different orders at Wyze several days ago but they were all cancelled. I contacted the customer sevice but it was no help. I ordered from them directly before without any issue. I have no idea what's going on.

I use Wyze home security monitoring with their door/motion sensors and cameras. While you don't get as many features or customization as other systems, the overall monthly cost is cheap so I've stuck with them for now. I personally haven't had any problems, but I know others have complaints.

I literally just bought the lamp sockets two days ago for about $16.99 each shipped from Amazon. If I were to do it now, I think it's cheaper to buy the two-pack of v3 cameras that are still on the front page as of right now, and then buy these sockets separately for $11 each.

This is a great product but be advised that the switch only works with V3 specifically.

Does it provide power to the USB otherwise? That's all that I want out of it.

Yes it does default to on, you need a camera to turn it on or off.

This isn't really a great price. The camera is $30 and the lamp socket is $11 if you buy them separately ($41 total). This is a $40 deal, saving you $1.

The Home Depot deal is $35 for two cameras which saves you $25 (instead of $60 for two). That does seem like a great price: https://slickdeals.net/f/16278673-cam-v3-wired-home-security-camera-with-3-months-cam-plus-included-2-pack-34-99-at-home-depot-ymmv

This "deal" saves you $1 (2.4%) which doesn't seem worth noting.
