The RAM is soldered in but 16GB is plenty for most people. At this price, you would only expect to get 4 or 8GB.
The SSD is an M.2 and is upgradeable but note that it is SATA, not NVME. In addition, there is a hatch on the bottom side that opens to a bay to add another SATA M.2 SSD.

Update: back in stock (says 5 left).. in for 2. Reviews on YouTube seem to suggest it is fairly good for the price. I still have my Gateway desktop from 2001.. It of course is slow as hell in today's standard, but it still turns on and works... I know Gateway name really does not mean much any more, but with this price I can only buy i3 with crappy screen (and resolution) or lower CPU class with 4 or 8G RAM and 256 SSD...

I bought one of these a few months ago. Gr8 specs for the price. But, the build quality isn't too gr8. Feels heavy for a 14". My screen already has bleeding on three of the four corners. I can't complain too much since the price is good. I love the usb-c charging.
Do you notice the fan noise from your daily normal use?
This is a great deal, glad to see it back, but I wish they'd make the 15.6" version $300 again. I don't think I would ever buy a laptop without a number pad, it's just too crucial for any sort of work with an excel table and numbers/math
Currently dead, but in case this comes back: zoom in on the keyboard - it has the numeric keypad overlaid on the keys below 7, 8, 9, & 0 just like every laptop used to have 10+ years ago. Slightly awkward angle, but quite useable (I do it all the time on mine).
I can't live without a numeric keypad, either & I hate that it's become held hostage as a "premium business laptop"-only feature for most brands outside of HP over the past decade.

Oh wow I never saw that before. Definitely an oddity imo, but probably somewhat helpful if you adapt to it. Not sure how I'd feel about needing to press the function key to use a number pad though, I like the bigger 15.6-16" screen laptops anyway so don't mind waiting for something bigger, but that's just me
Are you sure the 15" doesn't charge via usb-c? Someone else said theirs did in the thread where it was sold. What type of usb-c charger did you plug into the laptop? Specifically which wattages and volt/amp outputs does it support? It's entirely possible the charger you used just doesn't support the right output for the PC to be willing to use it.
It does charge with USB-C(Using Lenovo Charger), I got it during last sell 299$ and its solid. As other says Keyboard and other are not that great quality but its neither too cheap. I have been using for my Mobile app development and it works perfectly fine.
I've had mine for about a week now. The complaints about the track pad are valid, its not as sensitive as I'd like, as two finger gestures are hit or miss. The keyboard has a plasticky cheap feel. The fingerprint reader works most of the time, but after a while coming back from sleep it won't recognize and I have to log in via pin. I do not have the problem with the noisy fan as others have posted. Outside those nuances, I am very pleased with my purchase. I was looking for a laptop with 16gb RAM and at least 256 SSD under $500 for my family daily driver and this exceeded my expectations for $300. I got a reasonable laptop for a Chromebook price. If you are like me and just need a replacement to surf the net, stream videos, and casually video conference this checks all those boxes.
