IMO, the HP is better with better CPU, IPS screen, backlit keyboard and slightly bigger battery capacity (need to look at this closer). There is a previous thread here that some have confirmed HDMI 2.0 port on the HP as well. Overall it was worth it to me to spend the additional $50

250 Nits. Yes and yes. Ram is Not soldered either.
Note that historically the best Slickdeals for laptops like the one in this listing were around $250 so I'd consider this listing a solid price.

One point on that 14". Nice machine for the price too, but no back-lit keyboard. So slight tradeoffs. I also need the number pad.
