If size isn't a big issue, I'd recommend getting a SSD with a USB adapter. It might cost double the price but you'll end up with something much faster. I see 256gb SSDs for $15 on Amazon. The adapter costs around $10.

If you're planning on using this for music with your car or OS installation, then just stick with a flash drive.

Instead of adapter I would suggest enclosure.
