Good luck getting an installation done. All the stores near me are booked until mid January.
$190 for TT members.
I like it but my wife works in a large hospital and her car is parked in a parking garage. So most of the time the car doesnt start from the other building she is working at. So since this is unlimited range, i am thinking this might be better. I understand the subscription pricing but if we use it for 4/12 months it is cold here, i guess its worth it.

Does anyone know if you can get the totaltech discount on 2 orders? I'm trying to put total tech and 2 fobs in my cart. The first one gets the discount for to 190, but the 2nd one is for the full 300. Not sure if its worth it totaltech only gives you a discount once

I have had mine a year now. It's the best thing since sliced bread.

On second thought, Never-mind, revert back to the other version. The Spelling & Word Utilization actually seems to make more sense with the original authors thought process. Sorry folks, you are now all dummer for reading this 🙄

I have a 2016 CX-5. Do you know if the car stops if the key fob is not near the car and someone tries to drive off?

If you have a keyless remote, then you'll need a second engagement when in car that the remote is also in the car after getting in such as pressing the brake pedal. Toyotas also shut down the car once the door is opened on a remotely started car.

Shouldn't be the case that someone breaks the glass and drives off.

you think that's bad? I waited 4 MONTHS for them to tell me they couldn't install mine after purchase.
How much does the installation cost?

I've got a Compustar CM7900AS alarm & remote starter. It really high quality and I expect it to last far longer than the Python (DEI brand, I think, along with Ungo and Viper) alarm/starter that its replacing. The range on the remote is fantastic, and I can check the interior temp from inside a big box store to make sure my dogs are comfortable while I shop.

I never understood their whole Drone thing. It seems to be an entirely optional, cellular interface module. Why don't they just call it a cellular/mobile/GSM interface module?

Their marketing is weird and some of their interface choices are, too. For example, in order to program options, you have to buy a $50 programmer module. I bought one so that I could have the interior lights turn on when the alarm disarms. Except it's weird AF. If you disarm/unlock, grab something out of the car, then arm it again, it doesn't turn the interior light off *before* arming, so the alarm thinks a door is ajar. And every time you arm the alarm, it turns the interior lights on for a second. Weird choices.

Our car is a 2019 from Volkswagen. Dealer wants $750 for auto-start.
I'm torn on if I should go to 3rd party and have a separate remote, or just pay the piper.

$300 is significantly cheaper, though, damn it. Ugh....
Usually you can program these to let the original remote still start the car. The difference however will be the range isn't as good with original remote and it does not have 2 way communication to let you know if the car actually started...
I'm being forced to install this to to planned obsolescence by Lexus...

Sorry for the newbie question.

I have a 2008 Honda CRV LX, and it needs to insert a key to engine turn on.
Do I still need to insert the key to drive even if the engine started using this remote system?
My brother in law has the same one. He was able to install the remote system without any issue.yes, you do need to insert the key to drive.

It's free with installation. Sometimes it doesn't show up on a phone. Use a computer and you'll see it

If I'm at home and I start my car to warm it and somebody breaks the window because they see the car is running, will they be able to drive off?
No. If you dont insert the key into the ignition, the remote start turns off as soon as you hit the brakes to disengage from park. I have the compustat 4905 in one car and a viper 4806 in another. Both turn off as soon as you hit the brakes.
