Love my A6A. Yamaha even doubled the warranty duration a year ago. The only thing I don't like are the "nannies". Theres a significant watts drop per channel when you go from 4 to 5 and higher channels. To be honest with my klipsch 5.1.2 in wall RP pros it doesn't matter since they don't require many watts to get to reference levels. To others it may be an issue. Great AVR. Nice and heavy. Built well. Love the music cast app too. Runs hot but never had a problem yet. 3 hours of lord of rings and runs fine.

I know it has preamp outs because I was looking at it a while back. I ended up getting a Denon AVR-X3600H, and I added an Outlaw 5 channel amp for Front Left, Center, Right and 2 rears. I used the Denon amp section for the rest of the surround channel for a 7.4.2 setup. It really works great.
I agree

Ugh. I have a RX-A2080 I got for $800 new. I want to upgrade but i don't think it makes sense.
I think the RX-A2080 has preamp output, so if you dont have have, I would recommend saving the money and getting an external multi-channel amp like Outlaw or Monoprice.

It only can process 9 channels so no pre-amp can upgrade me.

I'm getting a new marantz sr7015 from a coworker for $1100. Is there any reason I should buy this instead? I know that the 7015 isn't their best model and doesn't have wide speaker inputs, but other then that, is there any reason I should buy this new instead? I'm fairly new to the home theater game and am currently rocking the yamaha TSR-700 from costco.

It depends on your needs?
Why do you need to replace it?
