Best buy is the best place to buy this ssd, it will be 149 plus tax but it also includes Heatsink for free(you have to add the Heatsink to cart)
And for ps5 owners it does work with this ssd, I have it on mine and it's just as fast as the ps5 internal drive

Edit: 2 tb is OOS for now, but they do have the 1tb version for 87.99 with free Heatsink offer, also for those that ordered last week for 159 same promo. Best Buy will refund the difference.

Crucial is one of the least vested computer tech companies, in 'planned obsolescence'. I buy their NVME's with no hesitation.

If used in a laptop, will it require a heatsink? If so, how would I know if the heatsink would fit?

Yeah tough call, at least yours is coming a bit earlier. Mine changed from Dec 6th to Jan10 and now shows Jan 31. Will probably cancel mine and grab this instead.

Hmm mine was also suppose to be delivered on Dec 6th. Got pushed to January 10th about a week ago. Hopefully it doesn't get pushed again. I guess I'll just wait it out, I'm not exactly in a rush or need the space immediately right now.

Anyone prefer the inland microcenter 2tb with the heatsink?

It's a tiny bit more, but I can use the new customer coupon.

Kid ordered this with the free heatsink on the last best buy offer. He received the drive quickly but he's still waiting on the heatsink. It's been stuck on "label created".

Is that deal still ongoing? I'll check later today, might buy it from there and get it for my ps5

EDIT: Never mind, someone said it's sold out for now...

Would this be a good SSD for a secondary game storage for a PC?

Debating the 1tb with free heatsink from bestbuy @ $87 vs the 2tb with heatsink for $160 from Amazon, unfortunate the 2tb went OOS at bestbuy, thoughts?

The inland is better on paper, but I don't know about real world performance. I have never seen write speeds anywhere near as fast as the advertised values using crystaldiskmark. My cheapo inland gen3 has similar read speeds and faster write speeds than than a "better" Crucial gen3, so it's really hit or miss. Grab whichever you can, benchmark it, and if it doesn't meet your expectations, return it.
