Wow that worked! I will rep. you. In case the SD link above doesn't work, after you login as SmartSeed says, copy and paste this URL in your browser. https://tps.fidelity.com/tps-api/v1/redirect-to/turbo-tax-cd?fidelityContextCode=oltx
Then I logged into Intuit. It showed up as $105, but I did the trick someone else suggested to add a random Intuit product to the cart, then delete it. Then I was able to check out for $5.41 (tax in TX).
i got so many messages about this. let me answer you all here once in for all. you need to go the beta view to see the offer.
I have the premier offer under the beta view, but when I click to the turbotax website it still gives me only $20 off, even though fidelity says premier for free w/ state. Called Fidelity, they know about the issue and said to wait until the new year as they are working on the problem.

As others have mentioned, there's the good Amazon deal that comes after Christmas. And note, the one offered right now via Fidelity and the $20 off does not include a free state, so that makes the Amazon deal even better.
The online version never includes state. Some people do prefer the online version, however, and you can't buy that from Amazon, so discounts like the one Fidelity are worthwhile. However, someone posted a link to a $35 off link (comes out to $34). That's actually not a bad deal if you want/need to use the online version, especially if you don't need to file a state return or can do it on your own. You do need to login to Fidelity to use the $35 off link.
If one needs to file multiple states, anyone try buying two copies to get two free states?
This works, but you have to install on two computers, and do each state file separately, or uninstall one after you finish filing then install with the second code to do the second state.

You need to do it on separate machines. Once you've picked the free (actually, included) state on a machine, you cannot switch if you uninstall and reinstall. However, if you have a second machine to use, you can pick a different state. I tried this last year on the machine that I don't do my taxes on, just as an experiment since several people were claiming that once you selected a specific state, all installations on the code used for installation had to use the same state. That part isn't true, and there's no way it could have been true given how people sell/share codes.
I'm guessing that if you found the secret registry setting or file that TT sets the installed state in and delete it, you could switch states between installs on hat machine.

If you need to file multiple states and qualify for the free Fidelity offer, you should consider using the online version, because multiple states are free.
If you don't qualify for the free offer, I don't understand why you posted that question here.

If you don't understand, why comment.
Clearly some of us do not use online version for a reason. If you do not know what the reasons are, or the differences between online versus desktop, you should not comment on areas you are not familiar with.

holy crap, I just tested it out with my own code on a diff machine, you are right, one activation code could be used to download 5 different states if you activate them on different machines. TIL.
qqzjFor those who got the offer, how much money do you have in your accounts and do you trade a lot? I have more than $2m there and they never give it to me. I am wondering why? I don't trade a lot. Does it explain?
lol, do you need $69 off? when you have $2mil in brokerage

Yes, the "all installs from the same code get the same state" is a common false post which makes no sense given that people often sell their extra installs, or the whole product after filing their taxes.
Not clear what happens when you copy your TT file from one computer to the other, and it no longer has the state it was originally created with.
If you have a Chase credit card, you might be able to get $5 TurboTax download free. Check your Chase offers. I got the $5 off offer on my Southwest Rewards card and a $10 off offer on my Chase Freedom. Used my Southwest Rewards card to pay for the $5 TurboTax download and got an instant notification that the offer was redeemed. Will use the $10 off offer to pay for the Home and Business upgrade.

Was told the $1,000,000 in non retirement accounts was required for free TT download.
YVMV
People who have 1 mil in non retirement can afford their own turbo tax lol

Many have posted about Beta view and that wasn't the issue.

The guy above said uninstall and reinstall won't work so you gotta use diff computers or spin up virtual machines
