I have both the cards and I hate to see overlapping categories. With overlapping categories, I always choose paying with Discover, because there is always a bonus when redeeming points for gift cards.

I guess the person that gave you a thumbs down has a $200 a month premium Gold's gym membership.
My Discover is going to go unused this coming quarter, and I'll use the Citi for dining instead.
Now I get most people don't like to lock their money into GCs, but it works for me.

My Freedom shows Visa Signature, so it must not be all of them
Looks like it isn't, it couldn't recognize my info.
The original freedom card is a visa. Current users can keep the card, but it's no longer available for new applicants. It's being replaced by chase freedom flex, which is a master card.

Yes but I'd rather get the UR points and transfer to Hyatt for Hyatt hotel stay or redeem discover points for GC for 10-20% reduction ($100 gc for $80-90 worth of discover points)
