Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

Kickback is still possible if you currently have it on your plan. Unfortunately, you just have to find a willing rep who has to get approval from supervisor.

I lucked out when I added a 3rd paid line last week and successfully added kickback and one plus promo.

The rep was the one who offered to add before I brought it up.
Wow, you are lucky. When they discontinued Kickback, I had to add some paid lines and T-Mobile would not add Kickback to the new lines (they repeated that Kickback was discontinued, which it was). If you think about it, what's the point of discontinuing something if CSRs can add it anyway for no reason? But CSRs come in all flavors and experience levels.

For the world of me I don't get why this is a good deal?
A no strings attached free line isn't a good deal?

Is there any downside to adding a free line that we aren't going to use anytime soon?

So I have an old Galaxy S7 that I used with Verizon way back when. I believe it is unlocked. Would I be able to use that phone for this promo if it is unlocked? What if it isn't?

For those of you who have Simple Choice and just added a new free line, does your new line also have data plan? I remember many people were complaining there is no data added (only call/text) when they add a new line to their Simple Choice plan.
Yes. They seemed to have fixed it. I was able to select Unlimited Data on my new Simple Choice line.

First rep add success, then fine out no data. Chat back second rep inform that my SC no longer available. So new line don't have data. She also inform that system will move my plan to other plan.
So how are you going to resolve the issue? Are you going to remove this new line soon or ask them to add data plan? Thanks for helping out!

I was able to add unlimited data to my new Simple Choice line that I added today. Is it not in Add Ons when you manage your account?

I'm on the Simple Choice Family Unlimited plan, been a customer for 8 years, with 4 lines. Called Customer Care and spoke to them, she said I wasn't eligible on that plan, have to move to Magenta. Guess I'm SOL, cause I'm not paying an extra $60 minimum for the exact same services I use today (not counting the free line I was hoping for).
Completely unexpected. The offshore rep I was speaking to earlier called me back a short while ago! She said she did escalate it internally and found out it's a new promotion but I AM eligible for it! She asked if I still wanted it and she could get it set up for me. $35 + tax charged today and she said it's a free line for life. Now that's customer service! The fact that she followed up on the discount I wanted is amazing, I give her a 6/5 stars! If you haven't had any luck with Customer Care, try asking for Lexi.

this was interesting: I qualified for this offer even though I have old grandfathered plan which never qualifies for any T-Mobile promo. I wonder if my order will actually gets processed...

Exactly. It makes no sense if kickback is still able to be applied. Just make it standard across the board for everyone.

I was surprised as well because she brought it up unprompted. I quickly shut up, said my many thanks, and let her handle things.
