Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

Can someone educate me please - while I get it that the line is free, it still requires a $35 investment to activate the offer. What is the benefit of this free line though - at the moment both myself and my wife each have a t mobile original magenta plan that we are each paying $60 for, so $120 a month billing under one account. So, if I invest the $35 (if I am eligible for the offer) how can this free line help me?
How can this line help you? Use your imagination the sky is the limit.

I don't see an option through desktop account dashboard for live chat - It's saying to do it through the app, so I kicked that off
I am on tmobile.com and looking right at the chat. It's the first option under contact & support.

I think he's asking if you saw that option in the add a new line in the web browser account dashboard. I'm not finding the options to do this without getting assistance from a rep
Yes, it is possible to add a new line by yourself on the web browser. Click shop -> add a new line -> bring your own device.
But adding a new line by yourself, one is taking a chance because one will not know if they qualify for this deal.

Give the free line to your parents or your wife's parents. Cancel your parent's phone line to save money. Give the free line to your parents as an extra phone line at home.
Give the free line to your future kid. When they grow up to be 14 years old, they would be able to use the free line.

I switched to Chrome, and it shows now. Did not show on Firefox. Still online waiting for CSR.

So for the Magenta Max 9-12 plan
no autopay : $400
with autopay : $360

I'm currently paying $320 for 8 lines with autopay on the Magenta Max family plan

Upgrading to a 9-12 plan will cost me $360 with autopay - $30 free line credit effectively making it a $10 line instead of a free line since it will cost $330/month. This is all according to the rep.
actually once you go over to the new plan (9-12) each line would be $40, so when you get the free line, it would be $40 credit monthly, so your payments would still be $320

Interestingly enough, I was able to take advantage of the offer for my line #9 (10 if you count the home internet). They upgraded my plan to a 9 line plan and added it with no issues.
So, the home internet does not count as a line?

No go T-Mobile One plan, pretty old age, 2 paid 1 free line. Tried chat/call 611. Rep counter offered B1G1. Truly is a lottery.
Kinda seems like the lottery is whether you draw a competent and willing CSR, not whether your usually-eligible plan is currently eligible.

Yeah I figured. I got a rep debating me despite being a customer for years, zero missed payments, and getting the free line easily last year. I did add a smartwatch for my kid and I suspect that may be screwing up my eligibility, even though it is not a voice line.

I have one of these extra lines and still am not sure what to do with it! If by chance anyone wants to byod and port in to t-mobile, and interested in magenta max plan with Netflix, would be happy to split 3 ways as my wife and I, hit me with a DM. It should come out to be less than $40/mo.

What do people do with these extra lines?

SO this is a great deal. here is what I got when I called.
I had 9 lines before I called and can have up to 12 lines based on my credit line.

Agent gave me 1 BYOD line free for my Magenta plan plus he gave me 1 free line has he checked there was a promotion for BOGO 1 line free so I got 2 free lines. $35 were charged for each of both lines but agent gave me credit of $70 to my account.

Now for 2nd free line, as it was not BYOD, I was able to purchase iPhone 12 which was priced at $630 - $250 for new line so for $380 divided over 24 months, not a bad deal at all.

Hope this helps someone!
It's not based on your credit line. 12 lines is the max per account. A store told me this.

Maybe you are onto something. I'm on a magenta Max with 2 paid + 1 free line. I recently added an Apple Watch line for my kid. I was not eligible for this free line promo now.
