After you've completed the required days, the promos will be moved from the In Progress column to the Earned column. That's when it's safe for you to cancel your Fi service. In your Fi account, click on Account-->Your Plan. Scroll down until you see Leave Fi, click on it. It will give you options on what to do (cancel, pause, port out etc). Since the 1st bill usually started 2 days after your service was activated, the 61st day should be 2 or more days before the 3rd billing period starts. Cancel promptly on the 61st day and you won't be charged the 3rd bill.

you don't have to since even iphone 8 or SE 2nd gen @$150 will suffice ($600-200-250-150). If you want Pro then iphone 11 is enough since it fetches $330 as trade in ($900-300-250-330).

Gotcha.
You can find your referral link right under the E-mail slot in the webpage.
Since you have done Google Fi promotions a few times, I see you somewhat as an authority in theses deals : ) So you might possibly know.
Was it wrong for me ordering the second device with my second Gmail account with the same name and address? Thinking about it now maybe I should have used my gf's account and her work address.
You think that may cause issues later on?

I've never sent a link to anyone. I just now sent a link from my Fi account to my 2nd email address. The Fi web site said "Referral email sent", but the email didn't arrive. Nothing in the Spam and Trash folders.

I just gave people the code. When they used it, I got the credit. That's simple enough for me and them.

I ordered my second device joining fi with the referral link created from my first account. I don't know if the referrals successfully applied yet but I don't see how this should hurt the promotion.
Is there any indication in your 2nd order that a referral code was applied, as shown below in my order for a S22 deal?

Yes, I know where and how to send a referral link. As you can see in the screenshot below, it said "Referral email sent" but nothing arrived. I've tried it 3 times. I ain't doing it again.

Tbh I didn't pay attention. I really don't know if it was there indicating the referral is correctly applied.
But thinking over I would have definitely noticed if it was there.. I am guessing it should apply in the background. -very much like the cashback site referral links-
I will know better if I get a referral confirmation Email after I activate. I will update you.

I just copied the link in the window with the copy button and pasted in the Incognito window. -As opposed to E-mailing the link-
Do you know if it is against the terms ordering two devices from separate accounts for the same person and address?

All five of my Fi phones were shipped to the same street address, two names (mine and wife's). Three credit cards were used for 5 orders, not for any kind of detection avoidance but mainly whichever cards that offered a good cashback or I need to spend some money with it.

Well, this is my 5th Fi Deal (four S22 and one P7). I worked in IT for 35 yrs so I pay attention to details and document everything. Screenshots and digital cameras make documenting much easier than writing things down.
You sound like someone who has worked in IT and has a good technical grasp. Love how you usually put screenshots on everything as evidence.

Question for you - Considering the Pixel 7 does NOT come with the SIM, what is the best way to activate?

Use the eSIM or any physical Fi Sim? Which approach in your opinion is less risky as it relates to the promo.

Looks like Fi updates the counter every 24 hrs after activation. I activated my P7 at noon 12/23. This morning the counter showed 59 days left. Now at 12:30pm it shows 58 days left.
That's true, observed same...

Waiting my trade in kit to be delivered.. hpham,do you know how soon usually Google fi can complete exam trade in phone and issue the credit?

Shake hands, 20 plus years in IT industry. 🙂..I look every details of any application ,might be my occupation disorder..

Based on the fact that bizkit_120 and I (and other people too) activated using the eSIM and our activation & port-in were recognized, I have no issue with using the eSIM. Using a physical SIM that wasn't shipped with the order might have some negative effects that we don't know yet.

I traded in one phone in May and one in Oct. They were shipped from KS on Day1, arrived at the destination office in TN on Day 3, inspected and credited on Day 4 or 5. One weird thing is that the USPS tracking for those shipments never showed Delivered. Apparently the receiving place sent someone over to pick them up.

I shipped two iPhone11's last week on 12/19 to trade-in on two S22 phones. This time USPS tracking showed they were delivered on 12/21, but as of today Fi still shows "Waiting for Device". I suspected that the recipient's shipping dock is chock full of trade-in boxes and with their workers on holidays, year-end vacation it'll take a while to get them processed. Data points in the S22 thread indicate it took 7 to 10 days from delivery to payout.

My trade-in box for the P7 was delivered yesterday. I'll ship in an XR next Tuesday when the Post Office reopens.

I worked in Mainframe IT (was called Data Processing then) from 1977 to 2012, same company for 35 yrs. The first 10 yrs in Operations, Application Programming, Storage Management. The last 25 yrs in Systems Programming and Tech Support, my "customers" were the Application Programmers. So I'm pretty good at trouble shooting and discovering boos-boos that people made but didn't want to tell me Big Grin.

XXAM XX: There might be a system glitch, you'll not lose the promo rebate on your account as you have met the terms. Please continue meeting the other remaining terms, the system will be updated soon.
XX AM XX: I assure you that you'll not lose the rebate.

If it wasn't for the scary posts I have seen regarding promotions and chargebacks I wouldn't really be worried but now I will keep a close eye on the Fi Savings and the checkmarks.
Didn't mean to panic you...it's just these Fi and visible cheap phone deals are full of horror stories. Part of issue is most of the promotion validation is based on algorithms and it's hard to override them if something goes wrong or subject to interpretation. A supervisor of some sort is needed. Add this to the fact that promotions are applied first and then charged back at the end of the promotion period. But it seems like those who are having issues with the Samsung Fi deals are able to get them overridden. It's just the time and stress involved in making sure promotion is accepted. Best practice with Fi is just to wait 24 hrs before changing anything, especially after first activation. Once you see activated by and a countdown timer, then it should be good to go. I haven't read about anyone getting a charge back after getting a countdown that was then completed successfully.

I believe there were some who were successful with physical sim as well. Usually the sim itself doesn't matter, they are not active and in the account the only thing that is logged is the serial of the phone (which is linked to IMEI). Once the phone is activated then it pairs the phone number with the sim. At least this is the case with TMobile, which Google Fi is using. Often sims are handed out like business cards and just dropped in with the phones unlogged. New phones usually will come with an unactivated sim, but you can use any sim to activate the phone. It seems for Fi promos they don't want this line being used on any other phone, which means you can't put the Fi sim in another phone or move the esim. If there is no physical sim in a phone it will automatically request to activate on esim. This is the case with phones with both esim and physical sim slot.

So, which sim you choose really only matters if you plan to use a 2nd sim and if you are restricted to using an esim or physical sim with your 2nd provider. It seems like the physical sim would be recognized by the promo quicker since it's like past promos. And it seems like there was a delay with the esim activation because they had only checked activation of the physical sim IMEI and had to rewrite then algorithm to also check activation of the 2nd IMEI which is used by the esim. Going forward there may no longer be a delay with esim activation if they are routinely checking both.

Lastly new flagship phones are starting to ship with no physical sims, and it's not specific to Fi or pixels, or Fi attempts to make their promos more difficult. The iphone14 are activated only with esims now. There is even no physical sim slot. So any that are sold activated in a store will have the line transferred to the esim on the spot, which have complicated holiday gift sales. Seems only way around it is to have the phones shipped.

I totally agree. I think you summarized it very well.
I did some research on Reddit and your comment is very much inline with the experiences posted.
I don't like the fact that the checkmarks disappeared after they first appeared.
I am going to escalate it tomm if I don't see the checkmarks reappear and counter kicking in. I want to get this sorted while I am in the return window.
