Owning both; I have to disagree. The single burner (even having multiple) is far more versatile than a 2 burner Coleman style camp stove. It is almost impossible to find 2 pans or pots that will fit together and use simultaneously on a Coleman 2 burner stove, and if you want to utilize the wind screen you'll need something around 6" in diameter or smaller.
This one was very useful to have and cook in the garage during TX blackouts.
Getting another as my previous served well for the last 4 years.

Sam's has butane in bulk for less as well.
If you are cooking indoors, butane is much safer than propane.

Butane is cheap and far more portable. You can get 6 cans for around $6, that's the price of 1 lb propane. It is also more portable and the fire it produces is hotter. They are concentrated blue intense flame unlike the yellow fire propane.

Seriously, can you point to me where I can get 6 cans butane for ~$6? Suppose you meant 8oz cans

unless you only need one burner for some reason or to use butane, the target coleman dual burner 2x10K propane stove that is $29 right now at target is a much better deal and more powerful

Thanks picking up the Target version for $29

Go to your local Asian stores they have these and the stove. These are so popular to Asian people. Also, I think I saw some in Sams too.

I've got a little old Coleman one burner stove that runs on liquid white gas. I top it up from a gallon container every once in a while. I bring along a smaller bottle of white gas, if needing to refill on longer camping trips.

I have a hard time believing buying butane cylinders for this slickdeal stove will be less costly than my old Coleman. Leastways the gallon of white gas was relatively cheap I recall, and has stored ok for years. And I wonder about finding the correct fitting butane cylinders in a pinch?

I have, just need the plate, since there's the four little leg of this burner, it's a little awkward to set up as it won't sit perfectly centered, but works great and we use it all the time.

How much does it sell in Asian market? Do butane canisters have the same connectors?
Thank you.

Ha. I never paid attention to butane cans at Asian grocery stores. Guess I'll check it out next time though I really doubt it can be so cheap. Other places are at ~$3 per 8oz can

For those geek out on which one of these cartridge stoves are "better", I think it was Cooks Illustrated or the like that found that the burner's flame outlet design (the holes where the flames are under the pot) greatly affected heating evenness and heat output.

So, yes. Cheap and does a decent job, but there's better.

how long do you heat the cast iron pan on the burner?

You're not going to get enough heat on a cast iron for searing steaks with this.

Disagree. It works

Huhā€¦? You absolutely can get more than enough heat to sear a steak. If anything; on high setting, these stoves get TOO hotā€¦

I agree šŸ’Æ. I have both these models and I prefer this butane because it is easy to carry around and easy to clean.

Yeah I have been checking out the Iwatani korean grill top but I don't know if this is enough or buy their own Iwatani butane stove which is more than double of the price of the coleman.
I would get this, and get that grill top.

Can a cast iron pot be used to boil oil in this for fried chicken wings?

Yes, I have, not this specific one but similar one stove type butane powered heating elements. Works wonderfully. Make sure to get a good quality heating plate though, preferably one of those round ones with grooves on the edges to trap the liquid dripping down.
