I've had one for years. Fantastic portable speaker that can be plugged in. I usually run it with the lights off but my kids love them on. Ability to plug in mic and charge phones as well. Lasts for hours. Great for beach or boat 👍. Do not hesitate to buy if you're on the fence

No comparison. JBL Flip 5 is not in the same league as this speaker. Yes, Flip 5 is more portable, but as far as power and sound output, there is no comparison, especially in paired stereo mode.

I'm so torn between this and the 310 @BJs for $399. I was able to hear the 310 and was impressed. I can't imagine this one can compare being much smaller. However $200 more isn't fun either

I guess you have to ask yourself what you will be using it for. For a backyard gathering, any louder than this and your neighbors are going to be calling the police. Unless you are having a DJ spinning in a party cove on a lake with thousand of people there, I don't understand why this much sound is needed.

Depends on the venue. I used 2 for a party in a giant cabin - 1 inside and 1 outside. Worked fantastic. The thing with these is the sound carries so you don't have to have it so loud that it's impossible to have conversations. They produce a very rich, warm sound.

Used 1 in a knights templar meeting hall and it was plenty because of the acoustics of the room.

For a gathering completely outside, I'd use 2 to ensure full sound without having to crank the volume up and drown people out.

The 310 will have more room-filling sound, but they're substantially larger and heavier. These have the luxury of being pretty portable and can be carried without breaking your back.

Easy fix...Get two 100's! With the codes it will be cheaper than the 310. Pairing them will give you better stereo sound compared to one 310 and you have the portability of the 100. The 100 is big but still relatively "portable". Applause

It looks like these speakers are 160 watts. Can anyone comment on how loud that is?

Are these speakers loud enough to throw parties with inside a large social hall? eg. 4000 sq foot 100x400 ft hall

Or would I need to hook up multiple ones for a large hall like that?
