You maybe right for a contractor but for homeowners this is plenty of tool. ive been on the ryobi set for about 3 yrs now and couldnt be happier. Its handled everything ive threw at it. My hardest used tools are the impact, pole saw, hedge trimmer, circular saw, grinder, sander, work light, reciprocating saw. I put a diablo blade on the circular saw and made a BIG difference.

Included circular is P505. That's a 5.5" circular saw. Smaller than ideal but would probably suffice for most home use

Yes. A 2x4 is actually 1 1/2" x3 1/2".

Damn. I want a decent set with router (preferable Dewalt).

If you're set on Dewalt, you'll probably be better off searching for a kit + router separately. Most kits with a router are pricey and have a bunch of stuff you might not need.

FWIW there have been a lot of complaints from SDers about that 5.5" circular saw

If you are a DIYer you probably don't need Dewalt (I'd love to have Dewalt but my ridgid and ryboi tools serve me pretty well). If you are looking for a big set: those DTO 8 or 9 tool ryboi sets were an amazing value and iirc one of them had a router. I'd keep an eye out for those

You can grab a Ryobi brushless circular 7 1/4 for $75. Just use the free tool hack.

The issue with a set like this is the saw isn't great, and is already included in practically every Ryobi kit sold, along with the drill.
I would compare the value to larger sets if you need any tools besides the three, especially given this is a single.battery set of low AH and anemic performance in the saw to begin with.

your right. i have the 5.5 and use it very little because of the power on the older blue saw. haven't tried the green one.

fixed that by getting a makita 6.5, not as big as the 7 1/4 but plenty good for at home. the older 6.5 is cheaper on ebay compared to the newer brushless with more power.

These tools are cheap for a reason. Very much toy-like. Don't throw that $100 away. My advice is to wait for a 4-tool brushless set with two batteries for a $100 more. You'll be much happier in the long run.
