I use these similar branded 50w lights for my kitchen hood, which has 3 lights. It's probably been 2 to 3 years, and the lights are still working.

For this deal, I get the dreaded can't ship to CA message, lucky me.

its a small bulb PAR20 and not a PAR38
50w equivalent is the best PAR20 can do.

Sorry, I was just being snarky.

For anyone who actually wants to know the real reason:
It most likely does have to due with Title 20, which requires state regulated LED lamps to have an efficiency of at least 80 lumen/W. These bulbs fail with only 500 lumen / 7W = 71.4 lumen/W.
