Newegg has
Xbox Live Gold: 12 Month Membership US Registered Account Only (Digital Code) for $49.49 when using promo code SSCNA24, which is $10.50 off of the standard price of $59.99.
Note that Newegg does not charge sales tax on Xbox Live Gold codes, so the effective discount may be greater depending on your billing address.
Limit 3 per customer. Deal expires at the end of 1/1/2023.

Assuming you did this conversion once before the process will be exactly the same as before. You'll just pay $14 to convert rather than the original $1 deal.
So let your GPU expire on Jan 12th. Then redeem these codes to get 36 months of Gold again. Then convert to GPU for $14.
Total for three years of GPU w/ this deal = $162

Well in that case you'll probably get the $1 conversion option. So you'll snag three years of GPU for $149.
It's fairly straight forward.
1. Let existing GPU sub expire
2. Redeem 36 months of Gold
3. Convert to GPU
Costco is same price, but limited to 2 years
Read the prod description and it says converts to 4 months of Game Pass.
I guess the line "if you already subscribe" means if not currently a member you get 1:1?

Worth the little bit extra and not have to worry about VPNs and stuff.
3 years of Live Gold - converted to GPU for $1.

I did not have Gold or GPU, bought 3 years (max allowed by Microsoft), then added the GPU 'trial' for $1. During the process you'll be alerted that you will get a 1:1 conversion to GPU.
The trick is to get as close to 36mo on XBL before you do the conversion, otherwise you're not maximizing the deal.
My expiration of GPU is now Jan1, 2026.
1) Let your Ultimate expire
*Optional: wait a day to do the next steps. Some say this is not necessary, but I do it just to make sure my account is registered as expired
2) Redeem 3 years of xbox gold
3) On your console or on the xbox website, find an advertisement or sign up for XBox Ultimate.
4) Get Ultimate for a month.
TIP: If you want this entire process to be completely free, do Microsoft Rewards then redeem a one month XBox Ultimate code to use for this step.
5) Since your account already has XBox Gold, when you get Ultimate, all that Gold will convert to Ultimate

No expiration date in email. To the best of my knowledge there is no expiration for any Xbox digital codes. I see posts on Reddit occasionally of ppl that find old XBL codes from like 2005 when cleaning out their house and they redeem just fine.
You only need to wait till February, you'll be fine. I need to wait till April and I didn't hesitate to pick them up.
