These are an awesome step up from my last ones, so glad my neighbor had this deal open on their bedroom laptop.

In astronomy all else being equal diameter is king. 70mm is far superior to 50 or 40. A pair of good astronomy binoculars like this is FAR superior for a child than a cheap telescope, and it will remain useful if they ever jump into an expensive telescope.

I bought this a few years back from Amazon and had to send them in for warranty for collimation issues. Got it back and worked for about a year and then it progressively got worse again. Apparently these things have issues with collimation but the quick fix is fairly simple. There is a tiny screw under the rubber grip pieces where you can rotate to get the image back in line.

Is that a laser pointer? How is this specifically better for stargazers?

I ordered these on deal from Am a few months ago. Unfortunately, too heavy for me to be able to use. I'm definitely a weakling, but these are big! My binocular/telescope search continues…

This is a better price than I paid FWIW

Did you have a chance to try them with a Tripod?

Why is 25x70 cheaper than 15x70? 119 vs 97 before discount. Isn't 25x70 a better deal for $21 more?

Dec 9 2012, purchased from Amazon for $49.99. Bit double vision due to poorly collimated. But for the price, not bad.

Use a tripod (ideally not the cheapest ones but they should work) and adapter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/BARSKA-AF1...B000BYH8EQ

This will provide better images than the telescopes in this price range.

Edit: Didn't see that the adapter is included. That makes this even better. You will need to use a tripod with these. The adapter will work with any standard "camera" tripod.

It depends on why you are buying them. 25x magnification has a narrower field of view than 15x. Granted, stars are far away but if you want a broader view, 15x may fit your purpose better than 25x.

I tried using these with an old tripod I had from my B&W photography days, but I couldn't attach. Well! I guess I needed an adapter haha

Thank you!!

You need to mount this onto a tripod to be useful for stargazing.

How would these be for plane spotting? Is there an i-telephone attachment available to take pictures through it?
