This is not a great price. Plus, keep in mind this product is "Fortified" meaning they add a lot of synthetic vitamins etc. If you want Fortified, I'd recommend Terrasoul Food's [amazon.com] version instead of Bragg due to cleaner non-GMO, more natural fortifications. Even without S&S, it's cheaper per oz than OP ($0.94oz vs OP's $0.99/oz - with the minimum 10% SS, it's only $0.85/oz for Terrasoul).

If you want just nutritional yeast (non-Fortified), which I prefer, try Frontier Coop's [amazon.com] which are only $0.87/oz, also non-GMO, non-irradiated. They also make several flavors (i.e., Dill & Vinegar, Nacho, Himalayan Sea Salt & ACV, etc.), all NON-fortified.

nice deal - also - i've been unaware that Bragg now makes both a Smoky BBQ & Roasted Garlic version of the nutritional yeast! no deal on those yet though.

Awesome info. I've been buying from sprouts for a while, but wasn't sure if it was non fortified or not. Been on the lookout for non fortified. I'll definitely try out frontier, thanks.

Yes, I prefer Frontier as well, they also offer different size flakes. I think Vitacost usually has a better price. Keep in mind also, Amazon food "sales" are often old stock, closer to expiration, which is a HUGE deal with this, since nutritional yeast should be stored in a COOL dark place. So if it spent the summer in hot warehouse...

I love making a nacho "cheese" sauce with it. It involves soaking raw (unsalted) cashews overnight but it's worth it. Here's the recipe [foodsalive.com]. It's remarkable how much it tastes like nacho cheese. You can doctor it up with so many different things - I've added spinach, cilantro, subbed the red pepper for Anaheim or other peppers.

It's great simply sprinkled from the bag on avocado toast. Or mashed potatoes. Or sprinkle anything you make that cheese would go good with (green chicken chili, spaghetti, pot roast etc).

Here are the raw cashews [amazon.com] I use/found to be the best. Also from Terrasoul.

How does this price compare to Trader Joe's? I buy it to sprinkle on popcorn but haven't bought in a while. Not sure what's their latest price with inflation and all but I feel like it was much cheaper…

Don't confuse Vegan for healthy. These kind of taste like parmesan cheese, but parmesan cheese doesn't really need a substitute since it's already very nutritious and delicious. Some people are just prejudiced against cheese and other dairy products.
