Went to Lowe's where there was 3 left. None there when I arrived, but 200+ available at warehouse. So the Lowe's employee in appliance section ordered it in store with free delivery. It showed the low price in their system. Also picked up 5 year service contract as Samsung does have questionable compressors. That was another $150.

dual ice makers?!? I've never had a fridge where the ice maker didn't have to be repaired/replaced at least twice. Seems like asking for trouble...

After my Samsung fridge developed issues with the evaporator and ice maker icing over, as well as several of my friends who had different models, I'm confident in saying: do not ever buy a Samsung fridge unless you want to rip your hair out due to frustration

Lowe's plan does not provide any coverage to the compressor as the plan runs only 3 or 5 years from date of purchase and the compressor already has a 10 year parts 5 years labor warranty.

The part that could be problematic is the ice maker. Don't know if Samsung redesigned it for this model.

Can we use it as a garage's refrigerator?
No, I f you have any fluctuation in seasonal temps then you need to by a fridge that is built for garage or outbuilding use.

I'd stay far away from Samsung Refrigerators. Maytag or Whirlpool all the way. I've had my maytag SS for 14 years and still running
Apples vs oranges as manufacturers including Maytag and Whirlpool intentionally do not make appliances as durable as they used to. This is the new business model.

I called into Lowes CS, who wait time claimed 20mins but actually was an hour and 40 mins. Said they had 10 in the warehouse but confirmed the price was $2000 with the 5 year warranty. Was baffled when I quoted her this price, and said to check the store to see if they can do it at this price then.

My old Maytag French door refrigerator was assembled in USA about 14 years ago. The indoor ice maker that is in the refrigerator section died about couple years ago. Then the main control board died couple month ago. Then I replaced the control board by myself. Now it's running again. I think it will work for another 5 years at least. Samsung, I had a washer from it, it barely made 5 years. A piece of junk. Now I just avoid buy any Samsung appliance.

Crazy - local store had display for $454!! But it was already sold. They said another nearby store had one left and sure enough I arrived and it was there in box for advertised price $8xx. Got it.

Don't know a ton about if this is that great a deal or not but it sure seems like it is!

Also got 5yr warranty for $150. Probably a waste but I saw what first comments said so I went for it. 🤷🏼 ♂️

I currently own a Samsung, the smaller size of this one, and plan on replacing it when prices of better fridges come on sale. Do your research and you will find that these have an annoying tendency to ice up and when defrosting it fills the bottom of the refrigerator (the pantry drawer in the very bottom or ones without it, then the crisper drawers) with water. I even bought and installed the larger defroster tab and outlet hoses which is supposed to fix the issue. Made it better but I still have to wipe out water from the drawer plus periodically pull the drawer out to clean it.

Also the glass shelf at the bottom does not lift out, so when anything spills and gets under the glass you either have to live with it or disassemble the entire bottom have of the fridge to get the shelf out and then remove hidden screws to pop the glass out of the frame in order to clean under neath it.

Lastly, Samsung's fingerprint resistant stainless steel is anything but (and doesn't compare to either my Cafe gas range or Kitchenaid dishwasher whose stainless steel is very resistant and far easier to clean). I swear I spend more time polishing my dang fridge than it takes to do a quick wax of one of my cars. I even rubbed my hands all over the fridge in the store to check it out. I guess I didn't have dirty enough hands at that time.

In short, I will never own another Samsung fridge and the one I have will go into my garage as a spare fridge when I start seeing the prices of fridges come back down to normal.

Helped my parents get this this morning. They were looking in $3k range for a fridge. Encouraged them to buy the 5 year warranty for $149 to avoid unnecessary maintenance costs. For 1,100 after taxes it's not a bad deal.

Saw there were 3 available at my local Lowe's this am after seeing this deal. In the 45 min it took to get there, two were already snatched up by employees. For some reason they did not realize there was a third in stock and were surprised to find it after i asked them to look in the computer. It's getting delivered tomorrow. Thanks so much OP!

I've had my Whirlpool for 15 years and still running. Ice Maker is giving me challenges now so looks like it might have died. But happy it made 15 years and we are going through a lot of ice now with a full house. Rest of it works fine. I did have a leak and it was the water valve where it separates the water going into the ice maker and into the water. Easy fix--Just had to order the valve online.

Y'all might want to check with your homeowners insurance to see what the coverage limit on "accidental discharge" is. Statefarm just dropped us to $10k with a max I could up it to being $30k.

I say this because we had an ice maker failure and it destroyed flooring, subfloor, cabinets, pretty much everything except the other appliances.
