We got the ex-4s from the Costco deal: $500 with 1yr membership. That model has a 16" screen which seems like a nice bonus over the 10" here.

In summary, it's been a shaky start.
One crank arm came w defective threads so the pedal will not attach securely. Google suggests this is a common quality control problem.

When we have tried rides, the bike tends to drop Bluetooth connection to the tablet every 10-15', which drops your resistance to zero and stops measuring cadence. It's been a very inconsistent experience and we are seriously debating returning this and searching for used pelotons in our area. We are beginning to think it's worth the premium.

I'm interested in others' echelon testimonial.

We actually canceled our Peloton order ~three years ago to buy two Echelon Sports. We were hesitant, but that's the route we went.

Turns out, after riding them regularly, they've far exceeded our expectations. Great performance, great design (all things considered), great price.

I ordered a few days ago. Seems like they had a 3 year warranty for $30 so got that as well.

I think I'll bite. Rather than those totally off-brands for just a bit less, this seems at least a known brand. Questions: worth getting an extended warranty of $30 for 3 years? I thought when buying w/ CCs such as Amex warranty is extended to 2 years anyway?? Second, the display is only 10"? Is that big enough? [yes, I know let the 'that's what she said' jokes pour in / fill in...].. And, how easy is it to share the bike with your partner? Is it a challenge to lower the seat and switch log in riders? Thanks.

Use this with qdomyoszwift app and you have a working Peloton bike! Refer to the previous posts about similar bike if you do not know what is QZ App. Wink

Bought the bike during the December deal at this price, and I run as well. Personally I hate treadmills, bought one a few years ago ran on it twice, it sat for a year and I sold it. Bike is nice in that it's no impact, and 100% attention is not required to work out. I can watch vids, check email, etc on my phone and still pedal, if I tried that on a treadmill I'd by on my arse or worse pretty quickly. For me it's easier, time seems to go quicker, if I run I do it outside.

My wife gets her yearly peloton membership paid for by health insurance. Bought an Echelon, use qz and her free membership for a pretty sweet deal.

For this price might as well give it a try. Rather potentially waste $300 than $1500 on a Peloton.

Yes you can go without the subscription, but personally with the sub. videos I'm more motivated to get a much better workout versus free pedals while reading or watching YT.

If I push myself to rank high on the leaderboard I always get a great workout.

I've had the old Sport (no screen) for 2 years, this thing is solid. Actually I bought another EX-1 Limited recently but still prefer the old Sport.

Great Great deal! I bought the Echelon Connect Sport December 2021 with no screen for $376.05 through a slick deal. This is a hell of a deal since you get the screen. I use it occasionally and it still rides and looks like new.

I also bought this on the December deal. Assembly was straightforward. I'm also using it with the QZ app along with the Peloton app on my iPad. Works great! Able to get a quick workout in and sweat in 20 minutes. I'd recommend it!

It mentions "deluxe wide seat" in the description. I could see having that on a beach cruiser you fart around in, but why would someone want a wide seat on an exercise bike? Road bikes have skinny seats for a reason to avoid chaffing and other damage to your hind quarters.
