How are the stuff assocated with deluxe edition get sent to you like a testral mount. Is that a physical thing they ship to you or something? If they send us a code to redeem on FEB7 through steam, would the preorder still be honored?

I am trying to get this as a gift for someone.

It comes along with the game. It's an in game type thing so you buy the deluxe edition and you're set. Everything else will be included within that code

Sound about right. The game official release date is 2/10. Deulxe people got 3 days eariler release. where did you buy from?

Buying a prelease on sites like this seems very iffy. I've had codes fail on cdkeys, kinguin, and g2a. They all got honored with new codes after going through the complaint process, but if it's not out for another few weeks after purchasing and you end up with a crap code, would they back your purchase wiry a new code or would they say you had X amount of time to install it under their warranty?

For better or worse. I don't think the gameplay has to be good. It just has to be serviceable. It is an opportunity to visit and explore Hogwarts. That is it. The gameplay doesn't really matter. I am not into Harry Potter, but the world looks amazing to explore. My wife is a hardcore Harry Potter fan, and a gamer, and she says that is all she expects. As long as she gets to fully explore Hogwarts, it will have been worth it.

As a game developer, I would be judging the actual gameplay, but it just wouldn't make much sense. We could be pleasantly surprised, but this probably isn't a game about gameplay. That part will probably just be the excuse to allow you to explore the world and live out your Hogwarts wizarding fantasy. If it does that, it will have succeeded.

GMG is already sending out Steam keys. CDKeys still says available Feb 7th.

Also worth noting CDKeys makes no mention of the Onyx Hippogriff Mount pre-order bonus. Their pre-order FAQ states "Any pre-order bonus or additional content is only included if this is mentioned in the product description on our website."

GMG states that the Onyx Hippogriff Mount is included.

Knowing all that now I wish I went with GMG for a few bucks extra.

Just picked this up last night from CDkeys. At first the keys didn't show, but did maybe an hour later. Gave me two one for the deluxe edition and one for the Hippogriff.
