Any idea if they are coming out with a newer model, or if this is the end of the line? It's a strange mouse- not enough buttons for MMO, and apparently not good enough for FPS; not many mice like it. I've been using the 602/604 for ages and worry I won't be able to find a replacement one day. I like the extra buttons on the side to map some macros for work, looks discrete enough to be in an office too. Kind of a jack of all trades, master of none.

Just wondering why you'd advice against it for FPS? I'm just starting to get into those; this is really the only gaming mouse I've owned.
You can totally try playing an FPS with it. It is a heavy mouse and a lot of fps players try to go lighter in weight for the genre. That being said, if it works for you then it is fine. It has a good sensor and will do the job.

Which Logitech mouse would you advise for FPS? Thinking of trying a mouse for CoD on PS5. Thanks!
Something lightweight. People will push you to wireless but wired is fine. Recently the HyperX Pulsefires were going for $15. I think someone is selling the white one for $22 still on ebay. I think they are being marked down for a new model but current one is great. I'm not sure how a mouse works on PS5, as I haven't had a console since the 360. I hope your journey goes well. Just don't get suckered into the crazy mouse people stuff where they spend $150+ on a mouse. They are not the norm and what they are getting is not, and they will argue otherwise, a better experience than far cheaper options. That is hobbyist territory.

Any good keyboards to match with this?
If you want wireless I have the G613 and like it. But it does take a little time to get used to with the column of G1-G6 customizable buttons. Through me a key off while typing for a good work or so.

On their site it's $130 so I definitely got it on sale because no way I paid more than $80 for it.

Agreed, I think you can more than try it you can enjoy it and not think twice about it. We get a little over analytical now a days when we can read so many reviews and comments. Chances are if weight was not something you ever thought with a mouse until you saw someone comment on it, it wouldn't matter now. There will always be compromises with a mouse and what matters most is what matters to YOU. Eg. for me the overall shape and button placement are much higher priority than weight, particularly multiple key by my pointer for melee. Wireless and battery life is also a plus with my desk setup. This all makes me more comfortable and focused, that makes be better and more reactive in game. Could weight help sure, but not more that those other things combined, especially thing that matter to the individual. Shaving oz off mouse weight seems like that type of thing that would only make an appreciable difference if you're in a very top tier, likely not those who consider a $35 mouse.

So don't let a broad statement like "bad for FPS" sidetrack your evaluation of what YOU desire and would make you happy while gaming.

PS: If I had to play FPS with an old unclean rollerball mouse I'd still enjoy it!

This one I've had both and after buying my first one I bought two more. Use for work with wfh and plug it into my ps5 for cod to play kb mouse and it's perfect. Feels excellent in the hand and lightweight

I just bought this yesterday and it arrived today. I love it so far! I bought for my work laptop - any ideas on how to reprogram the side buttons? Or do I need to install logitech software to change? If not, its fine - i just don't think I would be allowed to install it on my work laptop.
You have to download Logitech Options and then can set each. Can even program quick keys on the buttons. I have my top row as cur/copy/paste. Other row for files. I use this to cleanup computers

I'll say that I picked this mouse up recently and do not like it.

There are six little buttons placed near the thumb area that are quite hard and protrude out. With the way my thumb naturally rests on the mouse it constantly scrapes against them and feels very uncomfortable and I have to consciously move my thumb down a half-centimeter or so to avoid this, but it's not something that I have a natural instinct to do.

It was cheap enough to essentially be a "whatever" but I wouldn't have purchased this even at this price should I have known.
Those buttons are there to be used bro

Target had this for 33 something last year for a price mistake. Then with 5% card it went down to 31sh. Bought 4, currently using 2.

My experience:
-the GHUB software sucks. Literally buggy and has many issues. (I.e. sometimes resets saved profiles when updating or switching profile between programs)
-the knob cause more fatigue than other Logitech mouse (because of it's rugged design). I use this alot for research and doing work.
- battery consumption is great, still using the battery that came for both.
-form is good, smaller than older version, fits better for smaller hands
-for gaming, it's pretty good. Using it with a 144hz screen. No issues.
- weight is okay, but I wished it was bit heavier but that's personal preference.

Someone said these are being phased out. When I had a g602, it broke during the 2 year period. They no longer made the g602 so upgraded me to the g604. Maybe you might get the same upgraded experience if you need warranty

This is very very good for MMORPG. I was running out of combination of keys for skills and macro in WOW. The 6 button are easy to get used to.
