According to Tom's, the 6950XT edges out the 4070 Ti if you're not using ray tracing or DLSS. The 4070 has a healthy lead with ray tracing though.

I feel in a couple months these prices will drop even more. 4070ti is not selling the 7900xt isn't selling nor is the 4080. I'd wait and let these companies know we aren't crypto miners with unlimited funds.

you can run this on a lower wattage psu easily. They just say that to account for the absolute worst power supplies.

I decided to go with ref 6950 xt as I saw quite a few concerning reviews about asrock warranty and customer service. for extra 5% of performance, was not worth the risk for me. Also OC cards run much louder and ref 6950 specifically is very quiet

Avoid Newegg. They were my go to for years and now they're a shell of what they used to be. Return policy changed, shady business practices, and now it's a giant store front with 3rd party sellers that are questionable.

Not all of these might be bad, but Newegg is not nearly as good as they used to be.

Ask literally anyone who bought a 3080 10gb two years ago to play 4k AAA games and see if they regret their decision because of the vram limit. Even nvidia knew they fked up, since they came out with a 12gb version of the 3080 like a year later. If you want a 4k card, you need at least 16gb vram if you want your card to last. If you want to play at 1440p, just get a 6800xt and save some money.

Fair point. However 6800 XT even 6900 XT, together with 3080/Ti isn't suited for upcoming games at native 4K anyways, and if you need tune down certain settings and use DLSS/FSR (which I see no reasons why one wouldn't), the VRAM will have much less pressure on them.

I'm not here to argue Nvidia's techniques, but VRAM size on high end 3080 and above is the least one should worry about.

Yeah, idk, I guess my mentality is if youre spending $800+ on a brand new gpu, you shouldnt have to compromise at all. But lowering some settings and/or turning on dlss/fsr is compromising, even if it doesnt make the game look that much worse. I feel like dlss/fsr should only be used when you cant hit 60fps at native 4k anymore, or you turned on ray tracing. And I agree, 6800/6900xt and 3080 isnt enough for 4k now, but theyre still really good at 1440p. 6950xt/4070ti and above are (or should be) 4k cards though.

Sorry but RayTracing is the future for me. New upcoming games like Diablo 4, and Starfield are going to have Raytracing. I would buy this at $600.
