According to Tom's, the 6950XT edges out the 4070 Ti if you're not using ray tracing or DLSS. The 4070 has a healthy lead with ray tracing though.

I feel in a couple months these prices will drop even more. 4070ti is not selling the 7900xt isn't selling nor is the 4080. I'd wait and let these companies know we aren't crypto miners with unlimited funds.

you can run this on a lower wattage psu easily. They just say that to account for the absolute worst power supplies.

Yeah, idk, I guess my mentality is if youre spending $800+ on a brand new gpu, you shouldnt have to compromise at all. But lowering some settings and/or turning on dlss/fsr is compromising, even if it doesnt make the game look that much worse. I feel like dlss/fsr should only be used when you cant hit 60fps at native 4k anymore, or you turned on ray tracing. And I agree, 6800/6900xt and 3080 isnt enough for 4k now, but theyre still really good at 1440p. 6950xt/4070ti and above are (or should be) 4k cards though.
Thanks to greedy Nvidia and AMD, $800 no compromise GPUs are long gone tho, it's not compromise, it's reality. You are comprising at this price point, like it or not. You can't even get a 4070Ti (essentially a 60 spec card called 70ti) for $800, what hope do we have?

And by going AMD you are already compromising on RT so the VRAM capacity for no comprises is a moot point to start with. If we are going back to talk about 1440p, 10-12GB isn't running out until next gen. Anything above 6700 XT will be fine.

Plus DLSS/FSR at quality setting is far from compromising, if anything the artificial portion of the tech helps on sharpness and binding issues. There are graphics settings have almost zero visual differences but very taxing on the GPU.

everything i've seen says 4070 TI is better than the 6950 XT.
No, it's not. Besides for someone like me, with a high refresh 1080p monitor and a nice but a little older 75" 4k TV with only a 60hz refresh rate that I'm not ready to upgrade yet in the same room together. This is basically the perfect card for me.

165 minimum 1% frames at 1080p in almost all games at ultra and 60 fps 1% lows in almost all games at 4k ultra.

It would be perfect and the ocd makes me want it 🤣 but I'll probably wait for a 4070ti to hit 500 because I'm partial to Nvidia and do allot of VR and single player games with Ray tracing but 🤮 can't stomach buying a 192 bus card that also has the slower memory, with bandwidth that low. I like that it's efficient and my 750w psu might not be enough for the 6950xt but skeptical about the 4070ti aging well. The performance seems alright but the benchmarks are a bit wonky and unpredictable, you can tell it's a gimped card.

And it's really not much of an upgrade over a 3080, so ya, 500 for a 4070ti is probably what I would buy at, or just wait for the next generation.

Also, You should only use DLSS if your card is really struggling and having 30-50 fps lows or something at the settings you want to play at. It's a solid feature and I like having it but DLSS does not reproduce the ultra smooth low latency feeling that real frames give and I really don't care for how hard Nvidia is marketing DLSS 3 on the 4070ti. From what I've read, some people says it pushes the artificial frames even higher while increasing latency even more then DLSS 2 and is a universally worse experience for high fps gaming.

Roughly equivalent going by those charts. Game dependent though. Some it's worse than a $400 6800xt, some it's better than an $800 7900xt.
The 4070ti benchmark's are super wonky and all over the place and Nvidia is a bit known for shady drivers to boost performance on a card launch and then release more stable drivers a bit after.

If someone wants to buy a 192 bit bus width card with only 12 gb and slower memory for 850 dollars........ (just look how low the bandwidth is).

I don't think this card will age well against the 3090ti or 6950xt.

I'll buy one but for about 400-500 dollars and if it never goes that low, it's not a big deal. It's Not really much of an upgrade from my 3080.

This card has been available for awhile now. I've only bought ASRock motherboards in the past but are they good with GPUs?

I had an 850 on mine and it ran it but w/ coil whine. I upgraded to a 1000w and it was better. I was pulling almost 650w while benching in 3dmark on o'clock.
How did you get up to 850w?
