A little more sat fat than I realized just for those who need to pay attention to that! At least the protein is high. I probably won't buy these again. The ingredients aren't the best and the taste is meh.
1. Soy is lower quality protein when compared to other sources like egg or whey
2. Soy is usually genetically modified (bioengineeried)
3. Soy suplements such as soy protein are high in phytoestrogens which is linked to higher risk of certain estrogen sensitive cancer.
Per the Mayo Clinic: "Soy or isoflavone supplements, on the other hand, generally contain higher levels of isoflavones. Some studies have suggested a link between soy or isoflavone supplements and an increased risk of breast cancer in women who have a family or personal history of breast cancer or thyroid problems."
You don't need to agree, but those who are cautious of supplements with soy protein have a logical basis supported by scientific fact.
