Get $300 with a new checking account and another $200 with a new savings account with qualifying activities. Plus, get an extra $400 bonus when you open both accounts at the same time. TOTAL $900.

Checking offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers. Savings offer is not available to existing Chase savings customers. Both offers are not available to those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance within the last 3 years. You can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last coupon enrollment date and only one bonus per account. Coupon is good for one-time use.

To receive the checking bonus:
1) Open a new Chase Total Checking account, which is subject to approval;

AND 2) Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of coupon enrollment. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit. Micro-deposits do not qualify as a direct deposit for the bonus. Micro-deposits are small deposits, typically less than $1, that are sent to your account to verify it is the correct account. After you have completed all the above checking requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.

To receive the savings bonus:
1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, which is subject to approval;

2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 30 days of coupon enrollment;

AND 3) Maintain at least a $15,000 balance for 90 days from the coupon enrollment. The new money cannot be funds held by you at Chase or its affiliates. After you have completed all the above savings requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.

To receive the extra bonus:
You must open the checking and savings account at the same time and complete all requirements above for BOTH the checking bonus and savings bonus. After you have completed all requirements, we will deposit the remaining bonus due in your new account within 15 days.

To receive any of the above bonuses, the enrolled account must not be closed or restricted at the time of payout. Bonuses are considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).

Early Account Termination Fee
If you close either account within 6 months of account opening, you will forfeit the bonus.
23% return on investment, not bad at all.

$900 / $15,500 = 0.058

0.058 * 4 quarters = 23%
lol what? You're getting $900 for 90 days with $15,000. You need to redo your math.

Can I transfer $15000 in multiple transactions with-in 90 days? I mean transfer 5k today, 5k tomorrow and another 5k after 2 days of account opening? Or do I need to transfer $15k at a time?

The requirement is that a "total" of $15K be deposited by the applicable deadline, so it's fine to transfer the money in increments.

Has to be within 30 days. Other than that yes.

So reason this happened is this is 2nd time i tried transferring money initiated from chase pulling it from my external account. This time i tried with only $5 and they still cancelled it. So only way you can fund your chase savings is to write a check to yourself or send money initiated from your external account
I found the same. This is frustrating. Called them too with no resolution. Chase Bank is not someone I would stick with.

It should, I wouldn't keep the balance in checking zero

Re: avoiding fees. Am I understanding the fee avoidance for both accounts correctly? If I just hold the $15000 in the savings account, will that avoid the checking account fee? Seems like if you have an average of $5000 in savings and checking combined that will avoid checking fee ? And the savings account fee will be avoided by having at least $300 in the account minimum daily balance ?

I think I'm planning to keep the $15k in there for the 90 days, I have scheduled monthly $25 transfer from checking to savings to avoid the savings account fees going forward, once my 90 days on the $15k is over it looks like I'll probably end up keeping 1500 plus an amount to cover the monthly $25 scheduled transfers in the checking account to avoid all fees until I likely close the account 7 or so months after opening. Or could keep the direct deposit going?

That should cover me right ?

I tried twice, once pulling from boa while opening the account and then a second time a day later through the app. Their fraud department called me and explained you can only fund with wire or check, not ACH. Very weird business practice, makes me not want to stick around longer after getting the bonus.

totally stupid of chase..., even after verifying the external bank account with micro deposits, they still reject the transfers initiated by chase side due to "fraud" and "suspicious" reasons...Im thinking like...WTF?? why you guys making it so difficult to accept money??

Yup. I did not understand that BS either.
Finally I could fund the Checking using Zelle.
And for Savings, I had to literally go to branch and deposit the check. That too it says "Delayed deposit and blah blah blah".
This has been the worse banking experience.
They even locked my account twice when I scheduled the transfers.

Yeah, and they will lock your account. "Suspicious recurring transfers. Fraudulent activity...".
And reject the transfers too.
You never know.

Don't bother with the transfer. Just write yourself a check and hand it in at a branch. Luckily I have one next to my work, but this may cause issues if you're far from a branch.

I did the same and had the same message on the deposit receipt, but per the app, my balance is fully available to me today.

On my app it says the transaction is on hold (deposited yesterday). Hopefully there is no other nonsense than just their regular BS of delayed deposit.

After dealing with account lockouts, blocked transfers and having to call Chase and still being unable to add a transfer account. I can say that if anyone is looking for a good long term bank, Fidelity is far better.

I transferred funds to both checking and savings from another savings account. A day later, $900 bonus was in my chase account. It seems the transfer was seen as DD and triggered bonus. $15k in savings also triggered bonus. I will keep $15k there for 90 days just in case.
