No, for a couple of reasons.

First, it's not $40 anymore. They repriced the phone at $70 + $40 for service = $110, and it would still be SIM locked for 180 days, assuming they unlock it at all.

But even for other phones that are still $0 on Metro's site, you basically can't check out at all because either the site is broken or they have disabled all sales. You just get an error message on checkout.

You might still be able to do it in-store, but the only phones left are pretty junky and it's not really worth it (for me).

512GB phone available for same price @Motorola site. https://www.motorola.com/us/smart...?skuId=781
Good find! On Moto's website it's actually 256GB internal + included 256GB sd card on installed. But they do have a good trade in promo that brings it down to $190+tax

Just bought another used LG V35 for $80 to replace my cracked screen one with a terrible battery after 3 years of using it.
Has a SD835 in it, and I should be able to do Android 10 versus Android 9 I've been stuck on.
Any downsides?

Motorola brand was bought by Chinese company, I believe it was Lenovo.

If you buy phone powered with MediaTek CPU, you are funding the R&D cost for Chinese company to surpass the United States.

I bought this phone at Best Buy. It came with the 256 GB SD card. It was not mentioned in the description. I think it comes with the extra 256 GB no matter where you buy it.

My parents are due for new phones. They have Moto Z3. Three and a half year old phones. Only got to Android 9. Seems like it might be a decent replacement.

Does anyone know if this unlocked version will have an issue with Verizon. I just got a Samsung s22 plus slickdeal that was unlocked and it seems to be working fine on Verizon. Wifi calling works, 5g works. Always worried Verizon has issues with unlocked phones.

Another worry I have is the Moto Z3 I believe only had a single Android OS update. It went from 8 to 9, is that common with Moto? Only 1 OS upgrade?

Anyone recommend buying on Amazon vs Bestbuy for phones, I've never ordered a phone on Amazon.

yes, 1 upgrade only no matter what they advertised 2 years ago about that phone.

i bought the moto One Action two years ago with the WRITTEN promise of 2 Android upgrades.
2 upgrades did happen for some countries but not the USA version of the phone because of some BS excuse.
It makes no sense. There's no difference between the hardware in the USA version vs the India version.

Mine came with Android 9 and stopped at 10.
i was hoping for 11 because then i wouldnt need to buy another phone for 4 years till Android 15.

my financial apps require an OS no older than 3 versions.
So 13 just came out which means in 2024, my Moto one action will be useless for my bank/brokerage apps because Android 14. Frown

thats why For the $40 metro deal, i picked the Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 (Android 12, 128gig version) over the N20 (android 11) even tho the N20 has slightly better specs for my uses.

Then i found out the N20 advertised 3 upgrades to Android 14!
I still would have picked the G Stylus.
being burned by the One Action, i rather have bird in hand instead 2 in the bush (which maybe an empty promise).

Mediatek is a Taiwanese company to be fair. And in terms of volume for smartphone chipsets, they already surpassed Qualcomm worldwide in 2021 since they largely focus on budget and lower end phones.

But that isn't relevant here. This 2022 5g version of the moto g stylus uses a qualcomm processor. It is the non-5g 2022 moto g stylus which uses mediatek.

Also the 2021 moto g stylus 5g, 2021 moto g stylus non-5g, and 2020 moto g stylus all use qualcomm processors too.

For 249 I am not sure I will get this phone. The CPU snapdragon 695 is a low performer. I have the Samsung A23 with the same processor. It stutters a lot, but cost me only $50 from metro.

A refurbished phone with SD 8xx will be much better.

When I looked up n20 Android updates, it wasn't even scheduled to get 13!? Where did you find this info?
