Since fall of 2021:
- We sold our house near Winston Salem, NC in the fall of 2021 and moved into our second home (look at me! /bunny) near Smith Mountain Lake, VA
- We sold a condo on Topsail Island, NC in spring 2022 that we had bought 4 years earlier. Loved the place, but we didn't use it much and the market was still crazy.
- We bought a home in Burlington, NC in summer 2022; the Virginia house is back to being a second home. Did lots of renovation to the Burlington house. No mortgage!
- I quit my job after 11 years in May 2022
- Took a month-long, 7,000 mile trip from Virginia, to Louisiana and across to Utah, then back to Virginia to visit family and friends from mid-May to mid-June 2022. Pulled our small travel trailer for the trip. Took one dog, our cat, and our daughter's hamster (the hamster passed away during the trip).
- Had lots of new job opportunities while on our trip. Turned them all down. I started doing accounting consulting upon our return. Just had to turn down a client as I'm pretty much fully booked.
- Returned to the Lounge
So which one of these life events was my biggest mistake?
