While the mic on this headset is better than some similar products, for podcasting you would probably want a dedicated dynamic or condenser mic. This might be "good enough" to get you started but if you wanted something that sounds more professional or offers that "podcast" sound, a dedicated mic is the way to go.

This is a solid headset especially at this price. One thing worth noting is that some of the extra audio features require the included USB sound card/DAC which only functions with a PC. These can be used with most gaming consoles via 3.5mm but the quality of the audio does take a hit without the sound card.

I currently use my studio headphones for gaming (such as the Philips SHP9500 or Beyerdynamic DT 770 PROs) with a cheap Zalman Zm-Mic1. Would these be better for gaming? Thoughts?
