Yes but still very capable. I have this exact one and have used it for many years, and it's more than suitable for the vast majority of my use. Even worked to take out large subframe bolts coated in factory locktite.

If you have the money the brushless is more powerful but for $100 with battery this is an excellent tool.

This is a very good budget impact kit which exceeds the needs of an average homeowner. Yes, it's brushed but that should be expected at this price point. This is the newer PCL265K1 model. Advertised max torque is 375 ft./lbs; real world torque is closer to 350 ft./lbs (Source: Torque Test Channel [youtube.com]) I have the older P261 model which advertises 300 ft/lbs of max torque, but it produces 205 ft./lbs in real world testing. Regardless, it always gets the job done for me around the house - removing lug nuts, changing mower blades, rusted-on bolts...shouldn't need anything more than this.

Not bad for the price
edit: nm I just saw a review on youtube and there's a reason why these are $99, torque claim doesn't live up to it's name

The 1/4 inch is an impact "driver" not an impact "wrench" big difference in application.

You have better luck than me. Mine would sometimes not work for lugnuts. I did notice some internal sparking when I use it.

You can usually see internal sparking with a brushed motor, that's normal

You can get an impact driver for well under 100 bucks tho. For a while a couple of months ago the ridgid drill and driver combo with 2 batteries plus a bit kit was $90
