Added benefits of this method is that T-Mobile doesn't charge tax on payments with gift card balance.
It's a rolling 90 day window. After each payment the expiration is 90 days later. So if you keep the account active, i.e. pay, the balance won't ever expire.

is it total of $50 (over multiple cards) or single card of $50+ ?
Quote from FuschiaTank117 :
Minimum denomination should be $50 on one card. You can buy in multiple transactions and get the $5 off each time. But I believe there is a limit to that too (can't remember though)
I just bought three $19.99 Tracfone cards in one transaction and got the $5 off.

I was able to purchase 6 ATT refill cards on my account and 2 ATT refill cards on my spouse's account. Still need 4 more refill cards. I'll try again on a different day.

I'm on the T-mobile Connect plan for $15/month. Do you have to spend the whole amount before the 3 month expiration date or will the remaining amount not expire if I have spent some of the amount before 3 months?
Your prepaid balance doesn't expire as long as your plan is active.

You're right. Was it always the case? Not sure. But have edited my comment. Thanks!
The reason I always stick to the $50 value however, is to get the maximum value (10% off) out of the offer, whether it be multiple cards or one.

After 3 successful cards and later cancellations, I tried the $55 and it worked. I'm good for now for 10 months. I see these 50/5 off deals come in every few months. Yeaa. I dont really need the savings but its to get a deal. Cell phone companies charge too much, more than they have to.

Do you have a grandfathered older phone or can these be used on smartphones?

ATT prepaid is lame.

ATT Prepaid's policy is that prepaid cards $25-$99 expire in 90 days after added to account. $100+ is 365 days. <$25 is 30 days. I suggest not to add the card to your account until shortly before your plan renewal.

You can extend the balance by adding more $ to the account before the prepaid card expiration.

E.g. add a $50 prepaid card on X. Add another $ on X + 89. Same prepaid card expiration rules apply to the added balance so you'd get another 30 days (<$25), 90 days ($25-99), or 365 days ($100+).

I use them on new phones, to activate the phone, get my 61 days, and get phone unlocked and vest add a line reward points.

Tracfone doesn't care that you are using these on smartphones?
I thought you had to buy the cards meant for smartphones.

Also, what do you mean by "vest add a line reward points"?

Is there a limit on these per person? Would like to keep a few for top ups at a discount. Since they don't expire. These 15% plus 5% if you have target Red also stacks?

I buy 8 for T-Mobile and 8 for Cricket every six months when Targets have this deal. I pay for my family's wireless bills and never had a problem. It's been 3 plus years.
