You'll definitely get better CPU performance but will be stuck with Intel Iris Xe 96EU graphics which is significantly slower than the RDNA 2 based Raseon 680M graphics. On top of that, in this one, you can add an external GPU using the USB4 port whereas the other model you've referred, doesn't even have a USB4/Thunderbolt 4 port. Check the detailed specification. So, there is no normal way of adding any thunderbolt accessories or external GPU unless you want to go with some DIY methods of using M.2 to PCIe X16 converter, separate PSU to power the GPU and loosing the capability of using any PCIe SSD.

Note: Although the USB4 port is mentioned to be 20Gbps one, it is actually a full 40 Gbps Port and has been tested with external GPU docks. YouTuber ETA Prime has already tested this model.

Ecosystem that charges exorbitant money for extra memory/storage and does not allow users to upgrade those on their own, okay!

Where are you seeing a laptop with a Ryzen 7 6800H and 32GB of DDDR5 for anywhere near this?

Good cost benefit. I'll wait for the 3nm process and for them to get rid of the USB A nonsense.

$80 more, not $100.
for $80 you get a nice screen, mouse, keyboard, battery. I am sure if you wait a bit you'll find one with 32gb. Just none for sale right now.

Yes. Search Amazon for "Beelink 6800h".

This might seem unrelated to some but you can buy a Chinese mini PC gaming Handheld for $795 (tax free for US citizens I think) that has a 6800U, USB4, and a built in 1080p screen but can also dock and be used for normal PC usage. It's called GPD win 4 but there are many coming out all the time for this same price, you just have to preorder them.

I just think these Beelink and minisforums mini PCs are marked up so much for the same specs vs a laptop because of the novelty. You can buy something even more novel with similar specs like a PC gaming handheld that retains a much better resale value. Basically, I'd go for a dockable laptop or a gaming handheld over this any day.

To all those 8itching about PC and MAC, try Linux Mint. It would be really easy to use for you simpletons.
Linux Mint > Windows > Chrome > MacOS

We have all four in the house and I am mystified how Apple is so successful with such a garbage OS. Love the hardware but wow what a cumbersome load of shit.

I used to have a simular mindset .. then I realized current computers don't do anything that I couldn't do back in Windows XP, and the OS uses a heck of a lot more resources too.
Windows, Mac, android, ios... all suffer from feature-creap Crap bloat to keep the money flowing in year after year.
They all purposefully make your experience worse on older, perfectly good hardware to trick you into buying new stuff.
My windows XP machine was pretty good back in the day, but my new $250 laptop kick's it's butt at everything.

Just learn about Linux and you can control everything. Windows has been great for me. Just don't try to run a skimpy amount of ram and things are great.

I agree that we could still get info from html 4.0 sites and it'd run on a potato. Maybe we should insist on an ultra low spec standard that is always supported for old PCs to always have access to the internet.

Looks cool but I'll put that money towards mac mini

After telling me my 5 year old i7 quad with 32gb ram is unable to upgrade to windows 11, that put me in a f Windows going forward mood.

Went from Android to IOS after the fiasco with Pixel 6 pro, just moving into an ecosystem that updates hardware longer since I tend to keep my devices longer.
Dual boot your PC with Linux Mint Cinammon...

Custom roms are always an option for developer friendly phones such as the Pixel...

5 years lines up to 8th Gen Intel. All you probably need to do is turn tpm on in your motherboard. Most tpm from that generation isn't on by default. If it's an 8th Gen I tel it supports windows 11 and if it truly won't do windows 11 it's the motherboard. Go check your tpm settings in your bios.

What's the cheapest price someone can get for Legit Windows 11?

How is this compare to ....
Minisforum UM690 Mini PC Barebone Pre-Order: Ryzen 9 6900HX, Radeon 680M Graphics, 2x DDR5 SODIMM, 1x M.2 Gen4 2280, 1x 2.5" Bay, USB4 @ $499 + F/S (supposed to come with Windows 11 Pro(?)) And 1 USB 3.2 Type-C and 1 USB4 Type-C
Or PLUS 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD for $649 (with Windows 11 Pro)
https://slickdeals.net/f/16129813-minisforum-um690-barebone-pc-amd-ryzen-9-6900hx-amd-radeon-680m-wi...
That's a nice unit, I like that it can be powered from the front USB4 port for one cable operation. It is $729 if spec'ed the same with 32GB/500GB and for some reason, it appears to only have 2.0 HDMI ports. Both MinisForum and Beelink have both come a long way and I'd be comfortable with either.
