I don't watch these shows to be preached to. I watch them to enjoy the wonder of nature and to learn about biology, not to despair.
I'm particularly pissed off at crap like this because my Dad and I used to watch nature shows together since I was just a toddler. Many years later, as he was dying of Parkinson's disease, and my evil stepmom limited my time with him, I wanted to watch a nature show with him like old times. We chose one (I can't remember what it was called).
Now you have to know that both my dad and I suffer from a lot of anxiety and depression, but especially my Dad, who has it really really bad.
Well this show instead of being a beautiful and exciting nature show was just a show about natural catastrophism. It was a horrible experience. I didn't know it would be the last thing I would ever do with my dad.
We're both super into the environment. We don't need to be preached to.

Unlike oil companies, science doesn't have a billion dollar marketing team. These serve as that, to a degree.

edit: watching football. they just ran an energy transfer (Dallas oil co) commercial talking about how the modern world falls apart without oil and natural gas. still waiting on the same thing by scientists. ironically, the commercial will probably horrify people who didn't realize their makeup, hair products, etc are petroleum products.

But you're mad when the shows that present that beauty also point out that humans are rapidly destroying it. Even though the films have a platform that reaches millions of people who can be inspired to change so that it won't be destroyed.

I provided my opinion on this deal in case somebody is on the fence in regards to whether or not they're willing to wait the month to receive it and in my opinion it's absolutely worth the wait but you go ahead with trying the troll, MOD please.

you should be as uncomfortable as they are when they're trying to enjoy the wonder of nature. when their livelihoods and conservation efforts are being ignored, and you complaining about it, it seems like their efforts are working. people should know and people should be upset.
