Vizio M7 75" was a front page deal recently for the same price. The TCL fares much better on rtings.com with an impressive mixed usage score of 8.0. The M7's mixed usage score of 7.7 suffered mostly due its sports and TV show ratings.
It would be hard to know. The thing to remember is if you enjoy the image quality, does anything else matter? The sites that review these are doing side by side comparisons, using measuring devices, etc. General consumers are just doing the eye test with a single device in front of them. We have a 4 series and older 6 series (P607). After tweaking settings, it is really hard to tell the difference with general viewing in comparable viewing environments (night time). The 6 series is in our basement so there is rarely much light to compete with, but the 4 series is on the main floor in a room with a ton of windows. Even when we had them reversed, the sun shining directly on either TV impacted things more than the technical differences between the two.

Just make sure you tweak picture settings (at a min, take it off eco mode), and my guess is you will be pleasantly happy. That advice holds for whatever TV people buy - they usually come on a power saving mode that impact brightness.
I find it funny when people compare TV's in general… just buy what your disposable income allows you to that meets your expectations of use. No one should tell you what your own use case would be for a TV. If you're in front of your TV all day then buy a top of the line Sony or LG OLED. If you're a gamer then get a 120htz tv. If you just watch sports then buy a 77-85" tv. For the kitchen, gym, or garage - save some money and get a smaller 4k from a cheaper brand. If you only watch tv from time to time then get any 4k 55"-70" decent tv like Vizio, TCL, Hisense, etc. most importantly for all of these occasions take warranty into deep consideration from retailers like Costco.

Seems this one has

Native Refresh Rate60Hz

Does this mean sports will be better?

Picked this TV up week ago for my bedroom. Very happy with the picture quality. It gets bright. Needs some tweaking out of the box. Roku is responsive. Haven't noticed any lag. Sound gets really loud.
The only bad thing about this is reflections. So set it up in an area where there are no reflections from the light or window. And you're good

It gets really bright. My last tv before this was 10 years old so I don't know if I'm not used to the new tech but I had to turn the backlight down to 60% or so otherwise it kind of hurt my eyes

My Samsung (7~ years old but top of the line at the time) came on a power saving mode that dynamically adjusted the brightness but the sensor or software was awful because the brightness was just constantly changing like every 10-15 seconds. Awful.
Oh the humanity 😭

Is this a good deal for a 75" HDTV?
My use case is a living room TV used for media and light console gaming.
The current TV I have there is a 55" TCL 4-Series; need a bigger TV for the space.

I spent the evening comparing my 4 series (2019ish?) to my 6 series, 55 inch (55r655). My conclusion is maybe 30% nicer, picture has a depth that is hard to explain. Some menu's are obnoxiously bright. If $400 fits your budget you aren't missing a lot. If twice as much for 120hz and a faster Roku(?) fits you go for 6 series. I don't have a 5 series in the house. I have many TCL Roku TV's. I suspect if you game or are into sports you will appreciate the better series. The cost is similar to a ticket to a sporting event. I leave this TV on 24x7 (Don't ask).

Had mine delivered this week…. Set up the wall mount, put the brackets on the tv, lifted it up and ugh…it came cracked. I should have looked first. Box busted in the same spot as the crack. Replacement coming next week. Anyway, BB is sending a 100 gift card for the hassle. I'm happy about that and hopefully that helps someone else out there if it comes busted.

I got mine yesterday, wall mounted and all looked good then.
Today the screen has horizontal flicker lines!
Anyone else has this issue?

After being OOS the past two days, Best Buy has the 65" 5-series back in stock. Decided to bite the bullet and ordered one to replace the 2019 4-series that we have in our living room and is starting to show some age.

If the TCL 75" is OOS, the Hisense U6H is the same price with almost identical specs. Rtings is similar too.

I ended up with the Hisense (will receive tomorrow) because the TCL horizontal lines issues scared me off.

This or Hisense u6h?
Review sites are unanimous the 5-series s555 is a little better than the u6h in a large variety of picture quality metrics. But only a little.

Are these really sale prices? These prices match the suggested prices on tcl's site (https://www.tcl.com/us/en/product...-tv-50s555 [tcl.com]) so it seems the current prices are the same as MSRP? Wondering if there will be a real sale on this in the next couple weeks or if the current prices are as low as they will go.
Price histories for Best Buy show these are historic lows except for the 55" which sold for $199 last Thanksgiving. They are also at least match the cheapest historical prices on Amazon.

I finally pulled the trigger on a 75". It never went OOS for me. I'm in SoCal.
