I should've heeded the warnings of other reviewers. After about 10+ outings, the soles on both boots started separating from the uppers. This seems to be a fatal flaw of the Zion Peak Mid, which is too bad because they're comfortable, supportive, and grippy.

I'm not sure if Merrell is just using some ridiculously bad glue these days in the interests of mass production, but I'd never buy another pair of Merrell boots.
