Amazon has it too. You need to select the right seller.

If you want to shuck, why don't you get the WD60EFAX (SMR Red) for a few $ less?

I don't want to shuck per say, I was just informing the community that shucking is possible.

I have the one sold by Amazon for $114.99 in the cart but do not see the $25 coupon (see screenshot attached). I wonder if the coupon might be targeted for certain Amazon customers (or maybe Amazon took down the coupon)?
If not, would appreciate any tips for finding / applying the coupon.
Thanks much in advance,

Is Newegg really that bad in terms of shipping harddrives?

You wouldn't be the first to say that they had a problem with shipping. They have so many NoEgg threads here, that some things are just expected. Spin the wheel of delivery fortune if you like to live dangerously, or enjoy a robust customer service chat, and a charge back to your credit card.. It is all so much fun for some folks who simply like the discourse. I prefer a no issue purchase, and NoEgg return and delivery issues are legendary. I stopped shopping there since 2015 or so because of unresolved issues. I have determined the script that CS reads from is tilted away from helping solve issues. Many issues also arise from the 3rd party sellers. NoEgg does nothing like Amazon or Ebay to protect the customers or their brand. Collecting the money is the only performance metric. I know that I will take a hit on my observations and experience since they pay to advertise here but it is important to hear both sides before you choose to buy.

Although this is merely a datapoint of one (and I can't speak to current NewEgg shipping practices on HDDs), my recent experience with NewEgg was positive. I ordered a few Optane drives as they were clearing out discontinued inventory back in December. UPS botched the delivery during the holiday rush. I contacted NewEgg CS, and they shipped out a new set, AND gave me a pair of gift cards to cover the difference in price since they had an additional coupon on the drives when I contacted them. They issued the credit within 5h of first contact, and shipped the replacement drives the next day.

Good for you, but you did have a problem. I do not want the aggravation ever again and know how to avoid it. If they are not the same company as they were 5-10yrs ago, they sure paid a premium for the IMHO dubious name. I feel no compunction to forgive and or forget. It is now a matter fact they have had issues and if they are not the same company, they should not have taken the name. Who knows I might have given a new company the business I have not because of the name. I am looking for a deal on a 6+ tb drive, but I will keep looking before I break my principals about ever getting taken again by them whoever they are now..
