The back of the can in the pictures says product of Canada.

Didn't know either of them were sweet corn exporters

I was able to get a $3 digital credit when I purchased 10 and selected Amazon Delivery Day. YMMV.

Super slick! Actually I posted the deal thinking this would be a great S&S "filler" item, but the digital credit is even slicker. Smilie

The back of the can specifies "product of Canada." Apparently corn is a primary crop in Canada (Ontario/Quebec). It surprises me that Amazon can sell and ship a can of corn to me for $0.69.

I saw a 20 oz bag (1.25 lb) of frozen strawberries at Dollar Tree ($1.25), product of China. So they can ship them in a cold storage refrigerated container across the Pacific Ocean (plus over land to the East Coast or through the Panama Canal) and still sell it for $1/lb, or even less if it was carried in store before the 25 cent price hike. DT also carries frozen cauliflower from Egypt (16 oz IIRC) and other frozen vegetables too. I do know that many foods are cheaper in non-perishable forms (frozen broccoli/cauliflower/Brussels sprout, orange/lemon juice vs. fresh fruits, etc).

More O/T trivia: strawberry picking farms seem to be popular in China. I've seen pictures from vacationing family members and other online sources.

The last time I bought (4) Green Giant cream corn cans 4-packs shrink-wrapped (16 cans total), the air cushion bags used were no match for 17 lb of cans, the box arrived beat up and more than half the cans were dented.

I did not know of frozen straberries imported from China and it boggles my mind that a bag costs just $1.25 at Dollar Tree. At least DT doesn't incur shipping costs!

I just received 6 cans of the Happy Belly pinto beans yesterday. 5 of the cans had huge dents in them.
