Quick question, do I need to activate the SIM by turning on the phone with the SIM before pulling the SIM out or do I not even need to do that and can activate it without ever powering the phone with the fi sim in it?

Agreed... I did 4 trade in's during the last round.

I did one S22 256gb and two S22 128gb purchases with S21 trade ins. Two were cracked screen, one was not. All three got full credit as if uncracked.

I did one Pixel 7 for iPhone SE 2nd (cracked) and also got full credit for an uncracked phone.

No real issues with any of the purchases.

I did take pics and video of the trade-in's in case there was an issue.
did you use different billing address or just same address for all 4 purchases?

why are you concerned about that? the phone is unlocked anyway and wont lock after activating with any sim.

Are you thinking about selling the plan? That is the only possible reason why I can imagine that being a question. I am sure you probably need to register the phone on their network at least once, but maybe not.

Since as usual there is a lot of confusion. In the last year I have successfully done three Fi purchases all with tradeins. Everything went well. Tradein horror stories seem to be overrated.

First was s22 plus for $399 with iphone 11 tradein for $320.
Second was s22 ultra for $599 with s21 tradein for $580.
Third was pixel 7 for $399 with iphone 8 tradein for $399.

In all three cases the tradein value was refunded back to my card around 1-2 weeks after I sent the tradein phone.

In my case I ported in Google Voice dummy numbers and kept thr line active for 120 days paying $20 + taxes each month.

In all three cases I removed the Fi SIM, put it aside and put in a non-Fi SIM and used the phone. What I made sure was not to use the Fi SIM in another phone.

There is a counter in fi.google.com "Billing" section which shows a instant rebate counter. That can be used to make sure all aspects of the instant rebate are being satisfied.
are you using same billing address for all three cases?

Once you port out that ends your service. Just grab a net10 plan from BB and port from that - i think theyre like $10.
What about just getting a Google Voice number?

All in on google fi! Been a fi customer since sprint died, was as simple as going in the app on my phone and hitting order. Free upgrade to 512GB, S23 Ultra $599 = winning!

Oh yeah it is free to port those out to google fi i am sure - I forgot they accept they are accepting those in the promo - most carriers dont - so if they are accepting then yeah thats the best route to take.

Not much incentive to go for the S23+ unless the size of the Ultra turns you off. If the Plus adjusts down to $399 like it is for the S22+ Fi deal, I'm in.
Not the size that bothers me, it's that stupid curved edges they still use on the display. I've had multiple phones with them but it felt great when I got my s21+ and no longer had them and I don't miss it at all.

It states in the promo: must be from carriers that have calling, voice and data services.

Lets see how quickly I can sell my s22u locally and if it sells for a good price before the google fi ships then maybe i wont cancel on this deal. I have a spare phone I can use until the google fi phone is delivered.

I'm not worried about the phone locking, I know it's unlocked, didn't want data to turn on while setting up the phone and get charged the extra 10 bucks the first month.
