Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Ordered Green S23 Ultra on 2/2 with current delivery dates of 3/1 to 3/8 to NJ. Like others I had delivery dates change and push out further twice two weeks ago but hasn't moved so far.

If you read a few pages back they said you have to contact hello mobile customer service to remove the port lock. Lol
I have a feeling that person forgot to activate their service before porting out. Haven't seen anyone else mention that since people starting receiving their new devices.

Unfortunately, no mobile SD thread search.

Search SD threads on a PC.

thanks guys, but I already knew that hence i mentioned specifically mobile. To make things weird, chrome on iphone which is what I am using isnt switching slickdeals to desktop view - which i tried prior to my prior posts.

SD just needs to add a proper search for mobile like every other reputable forum does.

I was trying to get a count of how many have shipped (only Ultras, not the regular S23s). A lot of posts are not mentioning which one they got.
Gotcha - but this is a thread about Ultra - I haven't seen many ppl talking about the other models so I think its safe to assume everyone is talking about ultra ship dates.

I'm in Jersey also. Initially ordered 3/8 for a color I didn't like. Was able to order again on the 11th with a better color. Had to change shipping address 2 days later (phone contact was out of date). Delivery dates bounced around at each of these steps, and am now at March 3-6. No updates recently.

Numberbarn worked out great. I do like how they let you choose a number and search for one you like. I suspect Google Fi will take any number you port in. They just added that data/mobile caveat to get people to leave their current carriers.

Selling my Green 256gb S22 Ultra on Swappa for $566 ($695) after Paypal fees, shipping, and swappa fees worked out positive.

$194.15 total out of pocket expenses after service fees and taxes included is less than I imagined paying even when Samsung had sky high trade in offerings. And getting the 512gb upgrade just takes it over the top!

All of us that got in on this are seeing one of, if not the best deal that will be offered for this phone. We got a trade in price and got to keep our phones. bounce

Thankful for all of the effort and help everyone has put forth in this thread. This truly was a slickdeal. Its a shame so many people are getting shafted on shipping dates but when everyone sees how great a phone this is they will be very satisfied despite the wait times.

So that guy was right. When I called Hello Mobile, there was an automated prompt system that noted I had made a number transfer request and that it was blocked due to their SIM Port protection system. I had to hit the prompts to confirm I want to port out and it disabled the protection, afterwards I was able to successfully port my number to Google Fi. Now I'm just waiting for the Fi Promo page to update to reflect that I've ported over a number.

Numberbarn worked out great. I do like how they let you choose a number and search for one you like. I was able to get one easy to remember. If I change my number in the future I will go there to pick an easy to remember number for a small fee. I suspect Google Fi will take any number you port in. They just added that data/mobile caveat to get people to leave their current carriers.

Selling my Green 256gb S22 Ultra on Swappa for $700 worked out great. I was able to clear $631 which makes this upgrade an amazing deal. I think all of us that got in on this are seeing one of if not the best deal that will be offered for this phone. We got a trade in price and got to keep our phones. Cant get better than that. Samsung is flailing around trying to shift trade in values and costs around but their offerings are just awful.

Thankful for all of the effort and help everyone has put forth in this thread. This truly was a slickdeal and it was unfortunate so many newbies were spamming for help but at least everyone will come out ahead in the end. Its a shame so many people are getting shafted on shipping dates but when everyone sees how great a phone this is they will be very satisfied despite the short wait times. I got lucky buying relatively early for cream which wasnt one of the most desired colors.

Bummed that my S22u Otterbox Defender wont quite fit. I dremmeled a small bit from the bottom of the camera cutout to fit a camera guard but the shape makes it so it wont quite close over the body. Just a bit too square. The $5 case will do while waiting for future sales.

$194.15 total out of pocket expenses is less than I imagined paying even when Samsung had sky high trade in offerings. And getting the 512gb upgrade just takes it over the top!
Nice, I sold my 128gb s22u for $600 locally - i know I got lucky on the price - most ppl were offering me like $400, which I definitely was passing on.

Thanks so much for confirming. I wonder if I should do this in advance before I receive my device.

To be clear, do you mind confirming your step-by-step process? I assume you activated your Hello service, proceeded with port-out via Google Fi, and found out it was blocked. How long did it take before you were notified of the port-out failure? Did you call the main Hello mobile customer line to find out it was blocked? What was your turnaround time once you removed the Port Protection system and successful Port Out with Google Fi?

Sorry if I'm bombarding you with questions. Just need more data points to fill in the missing gaps. Thanks in advance!
